Ramsdale, 26, had been settling into life at Southampton after leaving Arsenal in the summer, though the club are bottom of the Premier League. Having lost his No 1 spot to David Raya at the Emirates, he spent the majority of last season on the bench before departing the club for the Saints. Having been left out the England squad earlier this season, he was recalled to the team for the final international break of the year, which has seen the Three Lions take on Greece and Ireland. But he had to pull out having fractured his finger, and faces a spell on the sidelines for rehabilitation, with James Trafford called up in his place for the current fixtures. But Ramsdale wasn't about to feel sorry for himself, and was seen enjoying his break at Twickenham on Saturday alongside England team-mate James as England took on South Africa. Ramsdale could be seen in a bandage, with his fingers strapped up and James pointed out the issue with the duo seemingly in discussion about the injury. He also posed with a fan in the stands, with the picture showing the significance of the wrapping on his fingers.   The players seemed to be speaking about how Ramsdale suffered the injury, before high-fiving in the rain. James is currently fit, but has struggled with injuries for a prolonged period of time and is easing his way back into football. He has been playing regularly for Chelsea the last few weeks, where he is the captain, often filling in at left back. The 24-year-old has played four times this season, and wasn't called up to the England squad himself. Ramsdale was one of nine players to pull out the Three Lions group. James last played for his county in March 2023 in a Euro 2024 qualifier, and expressed his disappointment at missing out on a spot in the World Cup squad for the Qatar tournament at the end of 2022.
