Clive Lindsay & George O'Neill Auchinleck Talbot 0-1 Celtic Michel-Ange Balikwisha peels into space in the Auchinleck box, but his shot is blocked. It's not happened for him tonight, which sums up his Celtic career really. It's his last act too, as he's replaced by Benjamin Nygren. Liam Scales is also on for Stephen Welsh. Auchinleck Talbot 0-1 Celtic Ryan Stevenson Former Hearts forward on BBC Sportsound I would be raging if I was James Forrest, unless he’s
injured. The fact that he’s not played as much and he’s been playing well
today. I think he’s probably been Celtic’s best player. I probably wouldn’t say
it to Martin O’Neill’s face, right enough but I wouldn’t be happy. Auchinleck Talbot 0-1 Celtic It's just offside - no goal. Auchinleck Talbot 0-1 Celtic The off-field officials are drawing lines and all that fun stuff. .. Just shows how much Celtic need a striker badly Marty Worst Celtic team ever and, being 68, I remember some real dross. Inability to sign a striker is embarrassing. Supporters need to act with their feet and boycott matches and season ticket renewals. John Auchinleck Talbot 0-1 Celtic Celtic think they've made it 2-0 through a lovely dinked finish from Johnny Kenny, but the linesman's flag is up. It's very tight. Auchinleck Talbot 0-1 Celtic A huge chance for Auchinleck to test Viljami Sinisalo. It's lovely football to release Kyle Mc Avoy, but he doesn't get his cross right. Auchinleck Talbot 0-1 Celtic Sebastian Tounekti is on for James Forrest. Martin O'Neill watches on stony-faced. Auchinleck Talbot 0-1 Celtic Celtic want a penalty for an incident off the ball, but on we go. Still just the one-goal lead as we tick towards the hour mark. The gulf between the two sides is huge but the scoreline epitomises how poor this Celtic side really are when they are only one goal ahead. Paul Auchinleck Talbot 0-1 Celtic Callum Mc Gregor leans back and smashes a shot miles over the bar. This is pretty uninspiring stuff from Martin O'Neill's side. Talbot go down the other end and have their first shot on target of the contest as Luke Gillies fires straight at Viljami Sinisalo. Auchinleck Talbot 0-1 Celtic James Forrest manufactures space on the edge of the box, but drags his shot wide. Auchinleck Talbot 0-1 Celtic It's a lovely ball in and Johnny Kenny heads against the crossbar from about five yards out. Auchinleck Talbot 0-1 Celtic James Forrest gets away down the right for Celtic and stands up a lovely cross for Johnny Kenny, but the striker's header is way off target. We go back for a foul on Forrest though and it's a free-kick in a dangerous position. A reminder of who is now through to the last 16 before the draw later on. There are six top-flight sides already through, three from the Championship and two each from Leagues 1 & 2. After this match, the final fourth-round game is not until Tuesday as fourth-tier Stranraer host Championship side Queen's Park. Scottish Premiership Aberdeen, Dundee, Dundee United, Falkirk, Motherwell, Rangers, St Mirren Scottish Championship Airdrieonians, Dunfermline Athletic, Partick Thistle Scottish League 1 Kelty Hearts, Stenhousemuir Scottish League 2 Elgin City, Spartans Auchinleck Talbot 0-1 Celtic Away we go again. Shocking performance but credit to Auchinleck, working their socks off, this Celtic squad is so poor, Martin O'Neill is winning nothing with this dross. William HT: Auchinleck Talbot 0-1 Celtic Jackie Mc Namara Former Celtic defender on BBC Sportsound Celtic should have scored another couple of goals. Bernardo should score a header and Balikwisha has one, but there's not enough of those moments. Talbot have made it very narrow, let Celtic cross, because they know they can deal with that. Celtic don't have a target man that can win those headers and dominate the centre-backs. HT: Auchinleck Talbot 0-1 Celtic Ryan Stevenson Former Hearts forward on BBC Sportsound Talbot have been brilliant, they've done what they set out to do. If there was ever a game to show you that stats are a lot of rubbish. .. They've sat in in two banks, worked ever so hard. It will be difficult for them to keep that up but they'll be in there at half-time and Tommy Sloan will be saying to them "absolutely amazing"! Up until the goal, Talbot had dealt with everything into the box. HT: Auchinleck Talbot 0-1 Celtic Those sentiments have been shared by the away fans at Rugby Park, who have been singing "sign a player". The Championship side gave a good account of themselves but couldn't find a goal after the early setback, and Peter Leven's side made sure of their place in Sunday night's draw. Aberdeen started brightly, despite having suffered four successive defeats, and had their reward after just nine minutes. Debutant Lyall Cameron, pitched straight into the action after joining on loan from Rangers, swung in a corner that Dante Polvara met at the front post to flick on. Jack Milne challenged Josh Rae and bundled the ball over the line. The video assistant referee (VAR) took a while to check for a foul on the Rovers keeper, but Aberdeen had the lead and the defender had his first senior goal. The Championship side responded well to going behind and quickly went close to levelling when a mix-up led to Dante Polvara's backheel nearly evading Dmitar Mitov before the goalkeeper had to slap clear a looped passback. Aberdeen showed a little more control after the restart. Interim manager Leven made changes before an hour had been played, bringing on Jesper Karlsson and Graeme Shinnie for Stuart Armstrong and Nicolas Milanovic. The substitutions nearly paid off immediately when Shinnie picked out Karlsson in front of goal and in space. The on-loan Bologna forward took a touch but waited too long and his shot was deflected over. Milne had a chance for his and Aberdeen's second from another Cameron corner but headed wide, and Leighton Clarkson had a shot deflected past as the hosts looked to make things more comfortable. Raith remained stubborn opposition but couldn't find clear opportunities as the clock ticked down and Rae had to make a good save from Karlsson in injury time to keep the score at 1-0. Aberdeen couldn't add to their lead in the final moments but the final whistle sealed a rare victory for the struggling side and ensured that the holders' cup defence continues, with a new manager expected to be in place for the next round. This video can not be played Watch Milne score early goal for Aberdeen Cup football is all about getting into the draw for the next round and Aberdeen will just be relieved to have ended a long winless run and have started their defence of the trophy positively. Milne's early goal stopped things being too nervy at Pittodrie and, in the second half, the Premiership side were well on top and didn't look like they were in real danger of being knocked out. That said, Leven will be more than aware that his team could have made things much more comfortable if they were able to turn possession into clear cut chances. Too often the final ball let them down and a better delivery, or a sharpness in getting a shot away, would likely have made the scoreline look a lot better. Raith gave a good account of themselves despite going behind early, but couldn't turn promising moments into sustained pressure. Still Dougie Imrie will be proud of how his side stayed competitive and hope that he can get similar performances to climb the Championship into the play-off places. Aberdeen face the Premiership's bottom two next, with Livingston visiting Pittodrie next Saturday (15: 00 GMT), then Kilmarnock in Ayrshire a week later. Raith host ninth-placed Queen's Park in the Championship next Saturday (15: 00), before facing the same opposition in Glasgow in the Challenge Cup three days later.
