By DANIEL DAVIS and IAN LADYMAN AT RCDE STADIUM and KIERAN GILL AT RCDE STADIUM Published: 00: 30 AEST, 8 June 2025 | Updated: 02: 59 AEST, 8 June 2025 150 View comments Follow Mail Sport's live blog for the latest score, team news and updates as England take on Andorra in a World Cup qualifier at RCDE Stadium. By Dan Davis What, if anything, will Thomas Tuchel have learned from that? I can't really think of anything. England were passive despite having almost 80 per cent possession, and only created one good chance. I wouldn't be surprised if he tweaked a fair amount at the break. Not that 15 minutes is a lot of time to go back to the drawing board. By Kieran Gill At Rcde Stadium By Dan Davis That was certainly 45 minutes of football. Snoozefest. Boos at half-time from the several thousand supporters, too. Let's break it down. Thomas Tuchel named an experimental starting XI but it hasn't worked, and Andorra, the 173rd best side in the world, are level. Plenty of possession and 10 shots - but still no goals. By Dan Davis Noni Madueke looks like the only player who can make something happen, and he teed up Jude Bellingham with a decent cross. It wasn't the worst header from Bellingham, but it was right at the keeper again. That will be the last chance before the break. By Dan Davis Mercifully, there will be just one added minute. By Dan Davis Been dross, this. Very little cutting edge from England. There won't be panic just yet, but you'd expect better. By Dan Davis Jude Bellingham gave away a sloppy free-kick on the edge of Andorra's box, handing the minnows some respite. Not that they've had to work particularly hard to keep this 0-0, though. By Dan Davis See you later. Morgan Rogers pulled the trigger from distance but the ball whistled into the stand. High, wide and not very handsome. By Dan Davis Morgan Rogers beat one, beat two before pulling back for Cole Palmer, but he was crowded out and his shot was blocked. That deserved a goal. By Dan Davis There was a brief stoppage in play and Thomas Tuchel used the time to animatedly dish out instructions to his players. It does feel like he's slightly overcomplicated this. There's fluidity in the side but players are popping up all over the shop. Not quite working at the moment, and that suits Andorra. We're back underway, anyway. By Kieran Gill At Rcde Stadium By Dan Davis Noni Madueke, that was superb. He lifted the ball over the head of the defender before teeing up Jude Bellingham from deep, but his strike was straight at the keeper. That's probably what England will need, moments of magic. By Dan Davis Noni Madueke did well as he danced across the edge of the box onto his favoured right boot, but he fell as he looked to pull back. A deep cross was then cleared - surprise, surprise - before Jude Bellingham went down inside the area under pressure. VAR took a look but again, there was nothing doing. By Dan Davis Not much to shout home about just yet. By Dan Davis Morgan Rogers slotted Harry Kane into the box on the right-hand side but Christian Garcia timed his challenge to perfection. He then celebrated that like he'd scored a goal. Fair play. By Dan Davis Frustration is starting to creep in for England now. Andorra have held their own pretty well and limited their opponents to very little. I don't think Thomas Tuchel will be particularly happy so far. By Dan Davis Joan Cervos delivered into the penalty area but the ball was nodded out as far as Biel Borra, who smashed high over the crossbar. That's more shots already than Andorra managed against Albania. By Dan Davis Very sloppy from Dan Burn, who gave away a cheap free-kick in a decent position around 30 yards from goal, on the right-hand side. By Ian Ladyman At Rcde Stadium By Dan Davis How have England not scored there? Ridiculous. Noni Madueke was released into acres of space in behind and he charged into the box before firing in a low cross. Harry Kane was unable to get a crucial touch to divert it goalwards but the rebound fell out to Curtis Jones, whose touch was dreadful. Somehow, he was able to salvage the situation by pulling back for Kane to try his luck again, but the captain could only stab wide. By Dan Davis Oh, dear. England have already won seven corners but the latest, again from Cole Palmer, didn't beat the first man. Poor. By Dan Davis Good stop. Cole Palmer's corner was worked short before a cross was half-cleared to Noni Madueke on the edge of the box. Madueke caught his strike nicely but it was a comfortable height and Iker Alvarez was able to parry away across to his left. The goalkeeper, incidentally, is the Andorra manager's son. By Dan Davis England are having to be pretty patient but they've looked good so far, and have upped the tempo in the right areas. They moved it well through the lines before Morgan Rogers' cross was cut out at the expense of a corner on the right-hand side. By Ian Ladyman At Rcde Stadium By Kieran Gill At Rcde Stadium By Dan Davis Free-kick in a promising position for England after Noni Madueke was brought down. Cole Palmer delivered into the penalty area. Ezri Konsa went to ground and wants a spot-kick. VAR took a quick look but the tangle was cleared. By Dan Davis Jude Bellingham took matters into his own hands and beat two men, but his cross from out wide was fielded by Iker Alvarez. By Dan Davis Very good play, that. Morgan Rogers and Jude Bellingham linked up well before Curtis Jones saw a close-range strike blocked. That's the advantage of having those extra men in attack. By Dan Davis Morgan Rogers looked to release Noni Madueke away down this near side but England won the first corner of the game. Cole Palmer delivered but Andorra dealt well with the danger. By Dan Davis Well, that didn't take long. Jude Bellingham cracked an effort from distance but it was right at goalkeeper Iker Alvarez. Andorra went straight into a deep block from kick-off. It took seconds. By Dan Davis PEEEEP! We're off in Barcelona! Can England make it three wins from three? Let's find out. By Dan Davis Here come the teams in Barcelona. The crowd goes mild. Kick-off is now just moments away. Time for the national anthems. By Dan Davis I have to agree with Kieran and Ian. It's like a ghost town. .. I wonder if you can pay at the door if you're in the area. Maybe. Anyway, there's still a World Cup qualifier to be played. Let's do this. By Ian Ladyman At Rcde Stadium By Kieran Gill At Rcde Stadium By Dan Davis England boss Thomas Tuchel, speaking to ITV: By Dan Davis Here's a stat for you. Jordan Henderson is the oldest man to play for England since Frank Lampard against Costa Rica at the 2014 World Cup. Henderson is 34 years and 355 days old. Lampard? 36 years and four days. By Dan Davis England midfielder Jordan Henderson, speaking to ITV: By Dan Davis Right, we've got just over 20 minutes until kick-off and the warm-ups are in full swing in sunny Barcelona. It's T-shirt and shorts weather. By Dan Davis Roy Keane, Manchester United legend, speaking on ITV: By Dan Davis I was wondering whether Thomas Tuchel had actually gone with a three-man backline after that bizarre starting XI, but apparently not. ITV have reported England will play their usual 4-2-3-1. That, for me, means Curtis Jones will indeed be at right back. Hmmm. By Dan Davis Thomas Tuchel has urged his England players to bring 'relentless' attacking energy against Andorra at the end of a long, long season. By Ian Ladyman At Rcde Stadium By Dan Davis England have been drawn in the same qualification group as Andorra on four separate occasions, and have won all six matches. They also haven't conceded a single goal. Pretty impressive. Euro 2008 qualification World Cup 2010 qualification World Cup 2022 qualification By Dan Davis Yes, you're spot on. This isn't Andorra. Well, Andorra's national stadium isn't available after the Games of the Small States of Europe, so this game is taking place in Barcelona. UEFA said there were no suitable available grounds in Andorra. The RCDE Stadium holds a capacity of 40, 000, vastly more than the 3, 306 able to squeeze into Andorra's main ground. It's also home to La Liga club Espanyol. By Dan Davis Bukayo Saka was spotted arriving with the rest of his team-mates despite not being included in England's matchday squad. He completed just one training session during the week and it's therefore likely his omission is linked to his fitness. The winger is yet to make his first appearance under Thomas Tuchel. Conor Gallagher and Ollie Watkins are also absent. By Dan Davis Starting XI: Alvarez, Llovera, Garcia, R. Fernandez, Babot, Rodrigo, San Nicolas, Cervos, Guillen, Olivera, Borra Subs: Gomes, Pires, Da Cunha, Vales, Rebes, Alexandre Martinez, Vales, Lopez, De Las Heras, Rubio, Joao Da Silva, Marc Garcia By Dan Davis England brushed aside Albania and Latvia in their first two World Cup qualifiers but took a little while to find their stride in both games. Thomas Tuchel promised a more offensive brand of football when he took charge - so could we see that approach today? Andorra will prove stubborn opponents, and that will be a real test of whether the Three Lions' forwards can remain patient. This is their first away trip and Tuchel will want his side to come away unscathed and with three points, taking them closer to the main event. After this, they'll have five more qualifiers left to play. By Dan Davis This is such a surprising decision. Curtis Jones will seemingly play at right back this afternoon. I'm sure he'll invert, like Trent Alexander-Arnold, but he's far from natural there. There are three natural right backs in the squad - Alexander-Arnold, Kyle Walker and Reece James - but none are playing there. It's baffling. Let's see how it plays out. By Dan Davis I'm not quite sure what to think - but you can have your say. Drop your thoughts in the comments. By Dan Davis Wow. That's an. .. interesting side, shall we say. As Mail Sport reported this afternoon, Jordan Henderson has been handed his first Three Lions start since November 2023. Reece James will line up at left back with Curtis Jones stepping in as a makeshift right back. Ezri Konsa and Dan Burn are the centre backs. Cole Palmer, Noni Madueke and Morgan Rogers also start. By Dan Davis Afternoon, all. We may not be in sunny Spain (in fact, we're stuck with overcast England) but you can still feel the anticipation in the air. That's because we're expecting Thomas Tuchel to name a pretty experimental starting XI, potentially including Jordan Henderson. Andorra are no pushovers but you would still expect the Three Lions to walk to an easy three points and take a step closer to the World Cup. Let's get that all-important team news, shall we? As expected, there are some surprises. .. Now England facing mighty Andorra. The English pla. ..
