" FT: Ayr United 0-1 Hibernian John Hughes Former Hibs defender and manager on BBC Sportscene I was very impressed with Ayr United. Scott Brown will be very happy with the way they performed. FT: Ayr United 0-1 Hibernian FT: Ayr United 0-1 Hibernian Julie Fleeting Former Scotland striker on BBC Sportscene My man of the match is Rocky Bushiri. He's done a great job up against George Oakley and produced that moment at the other end that has got these away fans singing. Ayr United 0-1 Hibernian Wow. Former Hibs man Jamie Murphy has a pop from range with just seconds left, and Jordan Smith almost lets it through his grasp and into the back of the net. The visiting keeper just about keeps it out though and that's the final act at Somerset Park. Hibs are into the quarter-finals, thanks to Rocky Bushiri's late goal. Ayr United 0-1 Hibernian Ayr won't lie down in the closing stages. Marco Rus forces Jordan Smith into a fine save with a curling shot that looked destined for the bottom corner. Ayr United 0-1 Hibernian Four minutes added on. Curtis Main and Nick Mc Allister both came on for Ayr just before the goal. Ayr United 0-1 Hibernian Julie Fleeting Former Scotland striker on BBC Sportscene A real blow for Ayr United who have worked so hard. Bushiri has got such physicality in there, he's so difficult to mark. A big task for Ayr now to come back with such little time left. Rocky Bushiri Surely the winner! It's a long throw from the left, Kieron Bowie nods it on and Rocky Bushiri - who has been immense at the back tonight - gets a vital touch to find the bottom corner. It's been a slog for Hibs, but they are set for a place in the last eight of the Scottish Cup. Ayr United 0-0 Hibernian Martin Dowden BBC Scotland at Somerset Park Hibernian are pushing here. Scott Brown’s side are getting pushed back repeatedly but they’re holding firm. Not enough shots direct on target though. Ayr United 0-0 Hibernian Julie Fleeting Former Scotland striker on BBC Sportscene Martin Boyle has got plenty of time to open up his body and side foot it. But he gets it all wrong. Ayr United 0-0 Hibernian That was the chance, you feel. Martin Boyle gets in behind the Ayr defence, goes through one-on-one with Harry Stone but fires his shot wide of the far post. You expect a man of his ability to score. Ayr United 0-0 Hibernian Julie Fleeting Former Scotland striker on BBC Sportscene Mc Mann is very clever in the way he defends him there but I'm thinking if you have VAR and you go to the monitor then you probably give it. Ayr United 0-0 Hibernian Kieron Bowie heads high and wide under heavy pressure from Scott Mc Mann. VAR might have had a look at that. .. Ayr United 0-0 Hibernian Rabbie Burns supposedly once said there is no such uncertainty as a sure thing. Maybe we won't get extra time after all. .. Ayr United 0-0 Hibernian Julie Fleeting Former Scotland striker on BBC Sportscene It's very untidy from Ayr at the moment. Every time they get on the ball they're unable to string more than two passes together. This video can not be played Bushiri makes late breakthrough for Hibs Rocky Bushiri's late glancing header secured Hibernian's spot in the Scottish Cup quarter-finals as they overcame stubborn Ayr United at Somerset Park to stretch their unbeaten run to 11 games. Ayr looked set to take the Premiership visitors to extra time, but Bushiri stooped to meet a flick-on from substitute Kieron Bowie and send Hibs through. Both sides came into the tie in stellar form, with Ayr leading the Championship and undefeated in eight, and it was the hosts who came closest early on. The in-form George Oakley raced through but failed to poke his shot past Jordan Smith before Martin Boyle spurned a chance for the visitors, with his shot claimed by Harry Stone. Oakley was almost in one-on-one again but was prevented by a well-timed Jack Iredale challenge. Hibs started to gain some control and Josh Campbel had a well-struck shot saved before Iredale's deep cross was headed into the ground and on to the roof of the net by Boyle. Mykoka Kuharevich and Campbell had second-half shots blocked, while a smart flick led to Connor Mc Lennan volleying on target for Ayr as both sides probed for a goal. As extra time beckoned, Hibs continued to ramp up the pressure and Boyle slid a glaring chance past the far post before Burishiri made the 87th-minute breakthrough. Hibs still had work to do, with goalkeeper Smith pulled off a sensational double save from Jamie Murphy to preserve his side's slender advantage.
