FT: Barrow 1-3 Doncaster Rovers Andy Whing loses first game since taking over as Barrow boss Doncaster extend unbeaten run to seven games in all competitions and cap off third win against Barrow this season Rovers move up to second in the League Two standings Joseph Olowu gave visitors the lead while Rovers scored again seconds after restart through Luke Molyneux Emile Acquah scored from close range on the stroke of half-time as Barrow responded from a corner but Molyneux curled home from distance for his second Kate Holloway FT: Barrow 1-3 Doncaster Luke Molyneux was the star man in a decent night's work for Doncaster. His double - along with Joseph Olowu's third goal of the season - moves them second with MK Dons awaiting them on Saturday. Meanwhile that result led to Barrow boss Andy Whing's first taste of defeat at the helm and he won't want to see that repeated when they visit Newport County. As always, we will be there to guide you through it all, starting with Cheltenham Town taking on Chesterfield and third placed Notts County visiting former league leaders Gillingham at 12: 30 GMT on 1 February. See you on the weekend! FT: Barrow 1-3 Doncaster Three points have done wonders for Doncaster Rovers. They've flown up from fifth to second to sit in an automatic promotion spot, two points above the three teams below them and four points off AFC Wimbledon. And when it comes to a potential title chase, well, there's now nine points between them and Walsall. Never say never. FT: Barrow 1-3 Doncaster Mickey Walker Former Doncaster Rovers director of football on BBC Radio Sheffield It's a massive win for Doncaster. It is a long way to come on a Wednesday night and there has been quite a few away games recently, so it's a really big win. They have come away to a really good side with a new manager so Rovers should be very pleased. Barrow 1-3 Doncaster Luke Molyneux exploits two lapses of judgement in the Barrow defence to secure a double and take his side up into second. The first a pounce on misplaced pass in the 29th minute followed up in the second half with a cross-turned-goal when Bluebirds keeper Paul Farman guided the wrong part of the net. It leaves Barrow boss Andy Whing with a win and a loss against his name in his new role, while Rovers head home sitting comfy in an automatic promotion spot. Barrow 1-3 Doncaster Jason Walker Former Barrow AFC forward on BBC Radio Cumbria Billy Sharp using his experience to keep the ball by the corner flag. They have kept all three central defenders back from the corner. They know the job is done. It's going to be a huge win for Doncaster that will send them up to second in the league. Barrow 1-3 Doncaster The home fans begin to filter out as the board is put up for a further four minutes. The defeat feels all but sewn up. Barrow 1-3 Doncaster Barrow see a ball cut right in front of goal but with no home players there to tap it home, Joseph Olowu knocks it away. Would have made for an interesting end if there was a Barrow there in the right place at the right time. Barrow 1-3 Doncaster Aaron Pressley and Dean Campbell are tasked with sourcing some magic for the hosts as Ben Jackson and MJ Williams are withdrawn. Barrow 1-3 Doncaster Mickey Walker Former Doncaster Rovers director of football on BBC Radio Sheffield I don't know if it was a cross or a shot but either way it's a huge goal from Molyneux that should send Rovers back into the automatic play-off places. Luke Molyneux (77 mins) The first defeat for new Barrow boss Andy Whing looks like it may be incoming. Luke Molyneux curls in a cross but with Barrow keeper Paul Farman on the other side of his net, Molyneux's ball goes cruising into the far corner without any need for a redirection. Barrow 1-2 Doncaster Barrow winger Connor Mahoney is introduced in place of Tyler Smith. Barrow 1-2 Doncaster Jason Walker Former Barrow AFC forward on BBC Radio Cumbria Barrow have got to put the pressure on Doncaster, keep them pinned back. They have not created much but they have given it a go. I know there is still time to go but I would be tempted to bring Pressley on and have the two big men up top and just put balls into the box. Barrow 1-2 Doncaster Despite having some good chances, Doncaster haven't seemed as dominant in this half. Possession is beginning to even out and now both sides have had an equal amount of shots with seven apiece. Barrow boss Andy Whing senses the same and prepares some substitutions to try and find that equaliser. Barrow 1-2 Doncaster Jason Walker Former Barrow AFC forward on BBC Radio Cumbria An attacking substitution for Barrow as Tiensia is more of an attacking full back. He is forcing Doncaster attackers back and that is probably exactly what Andy Whing wanted to see. Barrow 1-2 Doncaster Barrow keeper Paul Farman denies Doncaster not once but twice. His first save comes as he denies Rovers goalscorer Joseph Olowu but he fails to collect and a Rovers follow-up requires some quick feet from the experienced keeper to block again. He then jumps out to collect the resulting corner but his throw into play is less impressive, going straight back to Doncaster. Fortunately for Farman, the visitors fail to capitalise. Barrow 1-2 Doncaster Mickey Walker Former Doncaster Rovers director of football on BBC Radio Sheffield The game has gone really scrappy this second half. Nothing much has really happened for either side. I would be very happy if the half stays in this fashion Barrow 1-2 Doncaster Barrow's Leo Duru and Kyle Cameron are finished for the day. They are replaced with Elliot Newby and Junior Tiensia. Barrow 1-2 Doncaster First changes of the night belong to the visitors. Harry Clifton and Charlie Crew make way for George Broadbent and Patrick Kelly in a double Doncaster change. Barrow 1-2 Doncaster Barrow right-back Leo Duru is booked after a cynical challenge just left to the penalty area. Barrow 1-2 Doncaster Charlie Crew finds himself surrounded by white shirts and puts in a cross into the box in the hopes it discovers a Doncaster man. It doesn't but it's close. Joe Ironside just yards away. Luke Molyneux has scored 12 goals in all competitions for Doncaster Rovers this season Luke Molyneux bagged a brace as promotion-seeking Doncaster inflicted Andy Whing's first defeat as Barrow boss with a 3-1 victory in League Two. In-form Molyneux created Joseph Olowu's opener before scoring either side of the break at Holker Street as Grant Mc Cann's side fired themselves back into the automatic promotion places. Rovers have now earned 12 points from a possible 15 since the turn of the year. Doncaster were dominant on the night and saw Joe Ironside nod wide of the mark in the 25th minute. And Olowu opened the scoring as he powered home a third goal of the season from close range after Molyneux's cross was nodded into his path in the 28th minute. And poacher Molyneux pounced on a poor Kyle Cameron back pass to double the lead straight from the restart. Emile Acquah, recalled in place of Aaron Pressley, pulled one back deep in first-half stoppage time as Robbie Gotts' corner bounced off his knee. Barrow goalkeeper Paul Farman pulled off a great double stop to keep out Olowu before stopping the follow-up with his feet. But Molyneux netted his 11th goal of the campaign, and fourth in as many games, with a cross-turned-shot in the 78th minute. Report supplied by PA Media.
