All eyes will be on whether White is named in Carsley's party for the UEFA Nations League games against Ireland and Finland after he made clear to the FA in March that he didn't wish to be considered for selection. White left England's World Cup 2022 camp mid-tournament in mystery circumstances, but it has since emerged that a disagreement with former head coach Gareth Southgate's No 2 Steve Holland was at the root of the 26-year-old's decision. There had been indications that White would come out of his self-imposed exclusion once Holland was no longer on the staff, which is now the case. But it is understood White has not expressed a change in stance since Southgate and Holland's departure with the expectation being that he will not be included. Ben White's England exile is set to continue as Lee Carsley prepares to name his first squad A disagreement with Steve Holland (R), Gareth Southgate's No 2, led White to quit the team There is a view that having made clear that he did not wish to be selected for England, the ball is in White's court with regards to making himself available. However, well-placed sources have indicated that White remains nonplussed about adding to his four England caps and restarting his international career is not a compelling prospect as many feel it is. Interim head coach Carsley is determined to put his stamp on the squad when he reveals his first selection since being handed the reins. But White's expected omission deepens his issues at full-back with Luke Shaw unavailable through injury and doubts over Kieran Trippier's form after the veteran defender started the season on the bench. That could open the door to the likes of Manchester City youngster Rico Lewis and Newcastle's Tino Livramento, who can play on both flanks. Kyle Walker and Trent Alexander-Arnold will both hope to keep their place. Elsewhere, the FA are checking on Curtis Jones' availability, with the Liverpool star suffering with a slight groin problem. Carsley is keen to legitimately add a number of the players he has worked successfully with at Under-21 level into his senior squad and Jones is among those he rates highly. There has been no change in White's stance despite Carsley's interim appointment The Arsenal defender is said to be nonplussed about adding to his four Three Lions caps Others such as Morgan Gibbs-White, Morgan Rodgers and Levi Colwill may also come into Carsley's thinking. Jude Bellingham is set to miss the squad through injury, which could open the door to Cole Palmer playing a key role in the forthcoming matches that will be crucial towards Carsley's hopes of becoming permanent boss. However, it remains to to be seen whether Harry Maguire, Jack Grealish, James Maddison and Marcus Rashford are recalled after missing the Euro 2024 squad.
