United have targeted Mbeumo, who has indicated he wants a move to Old Trafford rather than a reunion with former Bees boss Thomas Frank at Tottenham, as their next summer signing. But the latest offer for the 25-year-old Cameroon international, thought to be worth £55million plus add-ons, does not satisfy the London club who expect more than the £62. 5m fee paid by United for Matheus Cunha from Wolves. 'There is significant interest in Bryan. His current preference has been well publicised, ' Brentford's director of football Phil Giles told Sky Sports. 'He had an unbelievable season, and we expected interest in him. From what I understand, he is also, if needs be, happy to stay at Brentford next year as well. 'We've spoken to Bryan and his representatives. It's not a given that he's going to depart this summer. Brentford have warned Man United they will not get Bryan Mbeumo without upping their offer United's latest offer, understood to be worth £55m plus add-ons, was rejected by the Bees Mbeumo is wanted by United manager Ruben Amorim, who is determined to bolster his attack 'If we get the right offer, there is the potential for a deal to be done, but there is only so much we can say now on that. ' Brentford have already lost head coach Frank to Spurs and four of his backroom staff, and Arsenal are close to signing their captain Christian Norgaard in a deal worth up to £15m. But they are relaxed, confident in the way they operate, with the knowledge they are stress tested having been through similar summer raids in the past. The Bees on Monday unveiled Keith Andrews as their new manager to replace Frank. Speaking on Cameroon star Mbeumo, Andrews said: 'It's a massive boost if he stays. 'He's such a talented player. Someone I enjoyed working with, I worked closely with him last season around set pieces, so that will be the ideal scenario. 'I want the most talented players in the building. I'm very understanding of the way football and this football club work when it comes to transfers, but ultimately, I want the best players in the building. ' Norgaard is expected to leave the club to join Arsenal, who see the Denmark international as a replacement for Thomas Partey.
