Fans were taken by surprise to see an advert for such a high-profile role posted by a top flight club on the job-hunting platform. ‘The successful candidate will be an integral part of the first team coaching staff and have the specific role of coaching the first team and high potential B team players to develop those players as individuals, both on and off pitch, ’ Brentford's advert stated. ‘The role will be a key part of assisting with the Club’s ambition of creating and maintaining an environment of continual improvement and development. ’ Brentford said the candidate must either have a UEFA Pro Licence or a UEFA A licence, with a view to achieving Pro Licence status. Candidates will be required to have ‘strong coaching skills with the ability to deliver coaching sessions which develop multiple facets of player performance simultaneously’, along with being able to ‘build strong personal relationships and trust with the players and colleagues. ’ Brentford have shared a job advert as they look to recruit an assistant coach to Thomas Frank Brentford took the unusual step of advertising the high-profile position on Linked In The Bees stated that the successful candidate’s key relationships would include their head coach, Thomas Frank, and first team coaching staff. They would also work with director of football Phil Giles, technical director Lee Dykes, B team coaching staff and their performance, medical, player welfare and loans departments. Brentford listed their main accountabilities as including helping to plan and deliver training sessions for first team players, with a focus on player development. Their responsibilities will include providing additional training sessions for small groups and individual players, as well as driving a ‘culture of continuous improvement by identifying key development areas of the players’. They will also work with the technical director to ‘identify the high-potential young players at the Club, and help to integrate them into first team training’, as well as attending B-team and Under-21 matches and liaise with staff ‘to ensure that high potential players are utilised in matches appropriately. The successful candidate would also work with the player welfare department to help new signings to integrate to the club and assist players promoted from the B team. They would also take part in the club’s recruitment process to assess possible targets. Frank and his staff led Brentford to a top half finish in this seasons' Premier League Over 100 people have applied for the vacancy via the Linked In advert, the platform has claimed. Brentford's listing on Linked In is far from the first time a club have turned to the platform to fill an important position. The Bees have also posted on the platform seeking a new head coach for their women's team. In January, Tottenham had posted a job advert for a new head of their medical department amid the club's injury crisis.
