Bobby Clark has completed a permanent move away from Liverpool after being reunited with Pep Lijnders. The 19-year-old, who helped the Reds win the Carabao Cup this year, has joined Red Bull Salzburg on a deal worth up to £10million with the Reds holding a 17. 5 per cent sell-on clause. Liverpool will also have first refusal on a deal to sign him from the Austrian side. Clark joins Lijnders who famously worked at Liverpool as Jurgen Klopp's no. 2 - a role that saw him play a key role in the midfielder's progression into the first team fold. Following Klopp's exit at the end of last term, Lijnders was swiftly snapped up by the Austrian side as he looks to make his way as a head coach in his own right. With Clark a player who he knows well, the hope is that the pair can shine together. Speaking of his move, Clark said: "I am pleased to be taking this step in my career, and I can hardly wait to get out onto the pitch with my new team-mates. "It is the perfect move to the perfect club for me. "I saw at Liverpool the kind of players that are developed in Salzburg like Sadio Mane and Dominik Szoboszlai, and they were a big inspiration for me. "Everyone knows how great the prospects are for young players here. "I also know Pep Lijnders from Liverpool, of course, and the fact he is the coach here influenced my decision. " The club's sporting director, Bernhard Seonbuchner added: "Bobby Clark is a highly talented player with huge potential, who will improve further with us due to his ability. "He has developed mostly at Liverpool, has played in the first team there and knows our coach well, as a result. "That is definitely a reason we have managed to sign Bobby for FC Red Bull Salzburg. " Having progressed through the youth set up, Clark went on to make 14 first team appearances for Liverpool. Scoring one goal and getting two assists for the Reds, Clark was part of the Liverpool team who won the Carabao Cup final against Chelsea earlier this year.
