The California-based hip-hop artist with a passion for everything from religion to cannabis, charity work and professional wrestling also has a range of business ventures into which he has ploughed much of his fortune. Let’s be honest, the gangsta rapper with a long and colourful criminal record is unlikely to be forming a partnership with Dermot Desmond any time soon, but his weekend interview made for entertaining reading. In it, he said he would love to do with a football club what Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mc Elhenney had done at Wrexham. ‘Investing in a sports team has been something I have been looking at for a long time, ' said the 53-year-old. 'If the chance came to invest in Celtic, I would be crazy not to take a look at it. I have watched so much soccer in Europe but I have never seen fans like the Celtic fans. There is something so special about them. ‘There is a reason why their fans are talked about across Europe - the best players and coaches in the world tell you there is nowhere like Celtic Park and I want to be a part of that. Their mascot is a hound - you couldn’t make that up. Snoop Dogg becomes Hoopy the Hound - that’s gotta be a match made in heaven. The headlines write themselves. ’ Rapper Snoop Dogg has revealed that Wrexham's story has made him want to invest in Celtic The 53-year-old admitted he 'would be crazy not to take a look at' an investment at the club Alistair Johnston took the captain’s armband for the first time in Celtic’s 3-0 victory against Motherwell last Sunday and provided the second goal in another impressive performance. The Canadian is reliable in defence, has boundless energy and an eye for goal, as shown in Celtic’s come-from-behind victory at Ross County earlier this month. Taking the armband in the absence of Callum Mc Gregor is clear evidence that Brendan Rodgers sees him as one of his lieutenants but could the 26-year-old be the next star to leave Celtic Park for big money? Josip Juranovic left for £10million last year and Johnston has arguably been an upgrade on the Croat. He may not be the flashiest performer in green and white but titles are won on the back of the grit and determination that Rodgers has come to rely on from the defender. Alistair Johnston could be the next star to leave Celtic Park for big money after impressing There was a time not so long ago when the name of Marco Rose was consistently being linked with the manager’s job at Celtic. Rose is a colourful figure whom Celtic fans may remember from his time in charge of Red Bull Salzburg a few years ago. Rose famously wore a Celtic hat and scarf after his Salzburg side had won a Europa League clash at Parkhead back in 2018. The German head coach was then strongly linked with the Celtic job in 2021 prior to the appointment of Ange Postecoglou. That ship has now sailed, with Rose having moved on to bigger jobs at the likes of Borussia Dortmund and now Leipzig. But he will be back at Celtic Park next week when Leipzig travel to Glasgow for their Champions League clash with Brendan Rodgers’ side. Another meeting with German opposition may well send a shiver down the spine of some Celtic fans given what happened in Dortmund a few weeks ago. Yet, despite that result, they still have a very decent chance of qualifying for the knockout stages. After they play Leipzig, they still have home games against Club Brugge and Young Boys to come. Rose and Leipzig are flying at the top of the Bundesliga and are locked on points with Bayern Munich. On Bonfire Night in Glasgow, it should be a belter between two teams who play their best football when on the front foot. There was a time not so long ago when the name of Marco Rose was consistently being linked with the manager’s job at Celtic Could you name the nine ‘Scotts’ or indeed ‘Scots’ to have played for Scotland? The question caused all manner of bother to even seasoned anoraks on a radio quiz show last week. Most listeners got eight correct including the likes of Scott Brown and Scot Gemmill but stumbled at the last. Perhaps that’s little wonder when the most elusive answer was the lesser-spotted Scott Bain, whose last appearance for his country was five years ago. Not only has the 32-year-old failed to make a single appearance for Celtic this season, he’s only made the bench three times. He hasn’t actually been seen between the sticks since facing St Mirren on May 24. The chances of him adding to his three-cap tally any time soon might be said to be slim. Could you name the nine ‘Scotts’ - including former Celtic star Scott Brown - or indeed ‘Scots’ to have played for Scotland? Those supporters who were left to rue the cost of having Kieran Tierney’s name emblazoned across the back of their replica jerseys when the defender was in his pomp have reasonable cause to believe they might soon be able to retrieve the garments from the bottom of the laundry basket. Currently injured, the Arsenal defender’s appearance beside Brendan Rodgers at a recent Celtic charity event in London has sent the rumour mill into overdrive. Unlike a year ago, when Tierney headed out on loan to Real Sociedad, there appears to be a realistic chance of it now happening. He’ll only have a year to go on his deal next summer meaning Celtic might be able to stretch to a homecoming. Put it this way: if Celtic didn’t have designs on bringing back the fans’ favourite, why didn’t they insert the traditional ‘option to buy’ clause in Alex Valle’s loan deal from Barcelona? There appears to be a realistic chance of Kieran Tierney making a dramatic Celtic return Nobody had too many complaints about Celtic’s summer clear-out but there could be at least one player they may regret shipping out. Tomoki Iwata has been in sensational form for Birmingham since his summer move, scoring four goals from midfield as the Blues have set the pace in League One. The 27-year-old was named PFA League One player of the month for September last week and has impressed the St Andrew’s faithful with his physicality and eye for a long-range shot. If the Japanese international continues to thrive down south, the Celtic faithful may be left with mixed feelings on the departure of a player who featured 24 times for Brendan Rodgers last season.
