Players in training at Celtic Park before catching their flight to Croatia Champions League: Dinamo Zagreb v Celtic Venue: Stadion Maksimir, Zagreb Date: Tuesday, 10 December Kick-off: 17: 45 GMT Coverage: Live commentary on BBC Scotland Extra and BBC Radio 5 Live Extra; live text commentary on BBC Sport online. Manager Brendan Rodgers believes earning a long-awaited away victory is the "next step" in Celtic's Champions League progression as they look to take a significant move closer to the play-off round against Dinamo Zagreb. Celtic have eight points after their 1-1 draw at home to Club Brugge, with the Croatian hosts one point behind following a 3-0 home defeat by Borussia Dortmund. The Scottish champions have not celebrated three points on the road in this competition since beating Anderlecht in September 2017. "I think it's one we've been building towards in performance level and results, " Rodgers explained. "This year we've been fairly consistent. To win away from home (would be great), because you know what it means to supporters as well as the points. "You know that an away win at any level, but in particular the Champion League, it's a difficult challenge, but it's one that gives a real good feeling. "So for us, it's the next step. " Celtic will take heart from a creditable 0-0 draw in Bergamo against Atalanta, which came after a bruising 7-1 defeat to Borussia in Dortmund. "You go to Atlanta and you defend how we did there, that gives you a bit confidence, " Rodgers continued. "To know you can go into any stadium and defend well and for us, we hope that we can then bring our attacking game alongside that, and we know that when we do that it, it gives us an opportunity to get that win. "I feel that we're in a really, really good place. I know we can arrive into these games now having made some big performances that we feel can get us big results. " Dinamo have not won at home since September and are on a run of five games without a victory overall. After being held to a 1-1 draw at home to Slaven Belupo on Friday, Dinamo are third, six points adrift of Rijeka and Hajduk Split, in their domestic league. After Saturday's 3-0 win over Hibernian, Celtic lead the Scottish Premiership by nine points and are unbeaten in 14 outings since the rout in Dortmund. "We showed, importantly, that we could come from a setback which was quite a big setback and that as a coach gives you great faith and hope in the players, " said Rodgers. "From that moment, the players have been brilliant. We know that home and away we can be a really difficult team to play against and that's our idea. "To make it really difficult to play against us when we have the ball and when we haven't got the ball. " Right time for Celtic with Dinamo in disarray? 'I wouldn't be telling you! ' - Rodgers tight-lipped on Schmeichel deal Dinamo have a long injury list, with head coach Nenad Bjelic saying: "A few of the junior players will be with us. We have 15-16 professional players. I definitely think that my team will be ready to play. In my life I'm an optimist. " Spanish centre-half Raul Torrente and captain Arijan Ademi, the North Madedonia midfielder, both went off injured in the first 20 minutes on Friday. Croatia striker Bruno Petkovic, recently capped midfielder Petar Sucic and Takuya Ogiwara, the left-back on loan from Urawa Red Diamonds, have all been sidelined recently. However, first-choice goalkeeper Ivan Nevistic returned from injury to make the bench on Friday. Celtic have no injury or suspension worries with a full squad to choose from. Alasdair Lamont, BBC Scotland match commentator The picture is a pretty bleak one whichever way you slice it for Dinamo, who are six points behind leaders Rijeka and Hajduk Split as they look to retain their domestic title and win it for a record 26th time. No wins in five in all competitions, no wins in five home games since the end of September, no wins in their latest four home Champions League games and just two in their latest 13 at the Maksimir Stadium in the same competition. You can add to that an injury list of eye-watering proportions. Like Celtic, Dinamo have been regular Champions League group-stage participants, although on the eight occasions they reached that phase, they failed to progress. However, a home draw with Monaco, allied to away wins over Slovan Bratislava and RB Salzburg, mean a win over Celtic could well be enough for a play-off place and, with games against Arsenal and Milan to come, they may well feel this represents their best opportunity to get another win on the board. Marko Pjaca netted a hat-trick as Dinamo edged out Ronny Deila's Celtic in a topsy-turvy seven-goal thriller the last time the sides met in 2014 and the winger who went on to join Juventus for more than £25m is now back in Zagreb, now aged 29. Injury-doubt Ademi is another survivor from that game who is back at the club after a spell in China with Beijing Guoan. Key to their hopes of success will be Sandro Kulenovic, who has 14 goals for the season, including two against Slovan and one against RB Salzburg. With fellow striker and Croatia international Petkovic among those likely to miss out, the onus will fall upon the 25-year-old to get the goals required.
