WBA 0-0 Norwich Chris Goreham BBC Radio Norfolk commentator Norwich are not interested in pressing at the moment, they are quite happy to sit and frustrate West Brom. Although, goals have been hard to come by for Norwich recently. QPR 0-0 Stoke Lively start by QPR, playing the ball around with more confidence than you might expect from a team without a win since the end of August. Rangers have forced a couple of early corners, but are yet to trouble Viktor Johansson in the Stoke goal. Oxford 0-0 Middlesbrough A couple of early openings for Boro. First Delano Burgzorg breaks into the box and sees his cross cleared before Emmanuel Latte Lath turns well in the box and gets a shot away, which is saved by Jamie Cumming in the Oxford goal. Preston 0-0 Derby Preston North End have found wins hard to come by in the past month, and Derby are not exactly a team they have enjoyed many home comforts against over the years. The have won just one of their past nine at home against the Rams. In fact, Preston have won just two of their last 18 league games against Derby County (D5 L11), failing to score in eight of their last 10 matches against the Rams. Millwall 0-0 Sunderland Richard Wolfenden BBC Final Score at The Den The
atmosphere is bubbling up nicely here at the Den. A packed Sunderland away end
matching the noise barked their way from the Millwall faithful. It'll get even
louder should they get something from this, having not won here since September
1995. Luton 0-0 Hull City Abu Kamara gets forward down the left-hand side for Hull City and tries to play a ball across goal for Abdus Omur, but Teden Mengi clears the danger. Oxford 0-0 Middlesbrough A first meeting between these two sides for 26 years at the Kassam Stadium today. It's previously been a fixture dominated by Boro in the 1990s who are unbeaten in their last eight games against Oxford. Perhaps time to create some new history for the hosts then? And we are up and running in the smorgasbord of our remaining Championship games today. There is plenty to play for at both ends of the division after the earlier matches. West Brom v Norwich (15: 00 GMT) Qasa Alom BBC Final Score at The Hawthorns West
Bromwich Albion have found goals and victories hard to come by at The Hawthorns recently, leading to
some whispers and murmurs about the position of their manager Carlos Corberan. A huge flag at the ground today detailing that he is King Carlos, though, shows the majority of fans are still behind their manager as he looks for
a first win at home since September and to break a streak of three 0-0 home draws on the trot. The teams are on their way out at our six grounds, floodlights beaming. Storm Bert is still howling. You can't really get a more classic late November Saturday afternoon of football. .. Preston v Derby (15: 00 GMT) Preston North End will be looking to stomp the brakes on their winless ways of recent weeks. They have gone five Championship games without a victory, drawing three and losing two over the past month. And now they welcome a Derby side who they have beaten just twice in their past 18 league games. The Rams have lost just once in their last seven games (W2 D4) but they have struggled away from Pride Park, and only picked up their first win on the road in their last away game when they overcame Coventry. QPR v Stoke City (15: 00 GMT) Almost exactly a year ago, a QPR side floundering in the relegation
zone mounted a late fightback to beat Stoke City at home and collect their first
victory under Marti Cifuentes. Rangers’ recovery gathered pace, eventually clinching survival in
their penultimate game – and Cifuentes and his beleaguered team desperately need
a repeat when Stoke return to west London this afternoon. The Hoops, who dropped to the foot of the table just before the
international break, have endured 11 winless games since their sole success of
the season, a 2-1 win away to Luton at the end of August. Stoke, meanwhile, are on their most productive run of the campaign
since the appointment of head coach Narcis Pelach in September, picking up two
victories and a draw from their last three fixtures. The Potters, who start the day just below halfway in the table,
have lost just once in their last eight games overall – a 2-0 reverse against
promotion-chasing Sheffield United at Bramall Lane. A win for QPR will take them above Portsmouth, whose game at Blackburn was postponed. West Brom v Norwich (15: 00 GMT) It's not exactly High Noon here at The Hawthorns at 3pm on a grey winter's day, but we do have two of the Championship's finest goal slingers in action in this one. Top scorer Borja Sainz has 11 league goals to his name already for Norwich, while West Brom are being led by the excellent Josh Maja, who has found the back of the net on nine occasions. And goals are what the Baggies will need today, as they have struggled to score at The Hawthorns - having netted just twice in their seven home games. Still, they remain sixth in the table and are eight spots and seven points ahead of the Canaries. Oxford v Middlesbrough (15: 00 BST) Chris Coles BBC Final Score Rain sweeping around Oxford’s Kassam Stadium
with Middlesbrough looking for their third straight win. They comfortably beat
QPR and Luton before the break - and come up against an Oxford side with just one
win in their last 10. Oxford Utd v Middlesbrough (15: 00 GMT) You have to go back to 1998 for when these two sides last met, so that perhaps makes this somewhat of a special occasion at the Kassam Stadium today. Oxford have done reasonably well upon their return to the Championship for the first time in 25 years, but since winning three of their opening five games, they've won just one of the next 10 (D5 L4). The U's are two points above the drop zone and will be keen to pull themselves away from danger. Des Buckingham's side will be relying on their so far impressive home form to do so having lost just once at the Kassam (W4 D3). Middlesbrough arrive off the back of a resounding 5-1 win at home to Luton before the international break and are just one point behind the play-off spots in seventh. A third victory on the bounce today would lift Michael Carrick's side into the top six after Watford drew 2-2 at Plymouth last night. FT: Coventry 2-2 Sheff Utd Steve Ogrizovic Ex-Coventry City goalkeeper on BBC CWR All in all a valiant effort from Coventry. I thought they were brilliant in the first half even though we went 2-1 down. They started the game on the front foot, a higher press and it made it really uncomfortable for Sheffield United. Every time they wanted to clear it or play out from the back Coventry were backing up the play really well. The pivotal part of the game was the red card from Anel Ahmedhodzic. In the end the Sheffield United defender got Norman Bassette by the throat and was sent off. From that point you felt it was going to be Coventry's game. FT: Coventry 2-2 Sheff Utd A bit more reaction from Coventry City. .. Luton v Hull (15: 00 GMT) Much of the attention in this one is focused on two men in the dugout - Luton Town boss Rob Edwards and Hull City head coach Tim Walter. The heavy defeat by Middlesbrough before the international break had many predicting Edwards' time at the Hatters' helm was up. And yet, here we are two weeks later with 41-year-old still in the dugout at Kenilworth Road. Edwards has had meetings with chief executive Gary Sweet and others at the club and he told BBC Three Counties Radio: "When people are asking about your job, there are certain elements that are out of my control. "Time passes, we were able to talk about a few things, it's settled and I'm able to get real focus again and get back to work. " Lowly Luton welcome a Hull side that sit two places above them in the table, but all that really separates them is goal difference. Like Edwards, Walter has had his own meetings over the international break and has said he feels he has the backing of owner Acun Ilicali. Millwall v Sunderland (15: 00 GMT) Promotion contenders Leeds and Burnley have both
come a cropper at The Den in recent weeks – and Millwall boss Neil Harris is
aiming to make that a hat-trick as table-topping Sunderland arrive in south
London. The Lions have won all of their last three home
fixtures 1-0 – part of a seven-match undefeated run in which they have conceded
only twice – to surge to within two points of the top six. “It’s fair to say we’re extremely
confident at the moment, ” Harris told BBC Radio London 94. 9. "We
know teams fear us, and so they should, at times. “We know The Den has been a
really tough place to come in the last nine months and we want to continue that. ” Sunderland have taken the league
by storm under new boss Regis Le Bris and are unbeaten in their last eight
games, although the last three of those have all resulted in draws. After being held to scoreless
encounters at both QPR and Preston, the Black Cats then let a two-goal lead
slip at home to Coventry in their final game prior to the international break. A point will take them back to the summit. Last Updated 23rd November 2024 at 15: 49 Please Note: All times UK.
