Charlie Mulgrew is moving on from New Central Park Charlie Mulgrew has resigned as Kelty Hearts manager after one win in 11 games since taking charge. The former Aberdeen, Celtic, Dundee United and Scotland defender, 39, was appointed by the Scottish League 1 club in January and leaves them seventh in their division, four points above the relegation play-off spot. Assistant and former midfielder Mark Kerr, 43, has also left New Central Park. Kelty began the season with Michael Tidser as manager but he departed for Dunfermline Athletic in January. "Kelty Hearts FC can confirm that manager Charlie Mulgrew has today tendered his resignation from the post, which has been accepted by the club board, " the club said on X. "We can also confirm that assistant manager Mark Kerr will leave the club by mutual agreement. "Although only with the club for a short period, the board would like to place on record their recognition and thanks for the hard work Charlie and Mark have done on the club's behalf during their tenure. "Everyone at New Central Park would like to wish Charlie and Mark the very best of fortune for their future ventures. " Mulgrew, who coached Hamilton Academical under-18s before joining Kelty, made more than 500 appearances as a player and won seven honours with Celtic. Kerr played for eight Scottish clubs as well as Asteras Tripolis in Greece, playing more than 600 times, and had a 16-month spell as Ayr United player-manager.
