By HARRY BAMFORTH and JACK GAUGHAN AT GTECH COMMUNITY STADIUM and KIERAN GILL AT STAMFORD BRIDGE and JAMES SHARPE AT LONDON STADIUM Published: 05: 00 AEDT, 15 January 2025 | Updated: 08: 58 AEDT, 15 January 2025 66 View comments Follow Mail Sport live blog for the latest live score, team news and updates from this evening's 7: 30pm kickoff games including Chelsea vs Bournemouth, West Ham vs Fulham and Brentford vs Manchester City.   By Harry Bamforth It was one hell of a night of Premier League footie, eh? I am only just getting my breath back after those three games, they kept me working at full throttle. There were 13 goals across the three games. yep, you read that right. Five of them were in the last 15 minutes as well, it was a chaotic finish to the night. No rest for the wicked. .. By Harry Bamforth Phil Foden is back, isn't he? The Englishman has had a pretty terrible season, I don't think that's unfair to say. He had only scored two Premier League goals before tonight. He has looked nothing like the PFA Player of the Year he was last year. Well, that all changed tonight. His first goal was superb, and the second was a poacher's goal that we haven't seen from him in ages. Despite the result, that performance should give him a lot of confidence going forward. With Foden back to his best, City might just be OK. By Harry Bamforth Phil Foden, Manchester City goalscorer, on TNT Sports: On De Bruyne assist: By Harry Bamforth Look, yes Chelsea may have come from behind to get a point, but that's a really poor result for them. Based on that first half alone, I have no idea how the Blues have not walked away with three points today. They looked devoid of any confidence as soon as Bournemouth got their first goal. That's now five games in the Premier League without a win. .. If they aren't careful, they'll have gone from title contenders to missing out on the top four. Enzo Maresca needs to sort things out and pronto. By Harry Bamforth Just look at how much it meant to Reece James! James has had some of the worst years of his life recently after a series of injuries. So when he managed to din the net from this weekend, you just knew he was going to go bonkers. It's a hell of a finish, and after what he has been through, he deserves it. By Harry Bamforth Christian Norgarrd, Brentford goalscorer, speaking to TNT Sports: By Harry Bamforth My word, that was one hell of a match. The p[points are shared at Stamford Bridge in what is surely one of the games of the season. Bournemouth turned the game ion it's head with a quickfire double after the break and looked destined to secure three points. Then up step Reece James to salvage a point for Chelsea. Oh, how they needed that. By Harry Bamforth West Ham hold on! Graham potter's first Premier League match ends in victory, but my word they were made to work for it. Twice Fulham closed the gap in the second half, either side of Lucas Paqueta's strike, but they just couldn't get that third. Fulham shot themselves in the foot today, they only have themselves to blame. Meanwhile, it's party time for Potter. By Harry Bamforth WHAT A FREE-KICK! captain fantastic Reece James has come off the bench and saved the day for Chelsea. Joaoa Felix wins a free-kick and everybody thinks Cole Palmer will step up. But no, It's James and he bends the ball around the wall and into the bottom corner. They couldn't, could they? By Harry Bamforth What. A. Game. The Gtech goes bananas as the whistle is blown for full-time, what a comeback form Brentford. The Bees looked dead and buried after Phil Foden netted his second, but two late goals earns them an incredible point. Maybe City aren't back to their best then. .. By Harry Bamforth Oh my word, what a clearance! Bryan Mbeumo has the chance to win it, cuts inside and then blasts the ball toward the corner. It looks like it's destined for the net but Nathan Ake races back and clear the ball off the line. Incredible! By Harry Bamforth Oh, Adama Traore. .. The winger has the chance to level things at the death but he blazes over the bar from four yards out. His hands are on his head, he can't believe what he has just done. Neither can his team-mates, they are stunned. By Harry Bamforth BRENTFORD HAVE DONE IT! Manchester City have crumbled again and Christian Norgaard levels at the death. The Dane gets on the end of a lovely cross and heads home via the gloves of Stefan Ortega. The Gtech goes absolutely bonkers, they can't believe it. Pep Guardiola looks stunned. I'm not sure why, this has become the norm for City. By Harry Bamforth Oh, what a chance! Bournemouth should have all three points wrapped up but Tosin saves the day for Chelsea. Substitute Daniel Jebbison finds Justin Kluivert in the area and I start preparing the goal post. But then Tosin flies in to block his effort and send it wide. Chelsea survive. .. for now. By Harry Bamforth This game is bonkers, it really is. These teams are giving me no time to rest and Savinho just seems desperate for me to keep typing. He races away on the break, cuts inside, and sees a low strike saved by Mark Flekken. Good luck guessing what the score will end up being because I have no clue. By Harry Bamforth This is getting ridiculous now. Yoane Wissa has been knocking at the door all night and he finally gets his goal. Mads Roerslev gets on the end of a long ball to pull it back across the box for Wissa to score. Who knows how this one is going to end, eh? By Harry Bamforth My word, it's goals galore at the London Stadium! It's de ja vu as Alex Iwobi scores form a cross yet again, I can't believe it. This time Harry Wilson tries to claim it but it definitely misses his head and goes all the way in. Iwobi hasn't even been trying to score and he has two, this is crazy. Fulham are back in it. By Harry Bamforth It's Phil Foden at the double! Brentford have been knocking at the door but Manchester City have just taken the game away from them on the counter. Savinho races away down the left and sees his effort saved by Mark Flekken, but the ball only goes as far as Phil Foden. You know the rest. .. By Harry Bamforth What has happened to Chelsea? The Blues were battering Bournemouth in the first half, they could have scored five easily. But they have been made to pay for their misses and are now set for their fifth league game in a brown with a win. Their season is falling apart. By Harry Bamforth This game has had absolutely everything! I mean, Brentford have thrown all they have at Manchester City but just can't find the back of the net. Yoane Wissa thinks he has as he sends an effort hurtling toward goal but Nathan Ake clears it off the line. Almost an instant response. By Harry Bamforth OH MY WORD, WHAT A FINISH! Bournemouth have turned this game around and it's a stunning goal from the boot of Antoine Semenyo. The forward gets the ball on the edge of the area, gets some space from Josh Acheampong, and arrows it in at the near post. Chelsea only have themselves to blame, I'm really not sure how they are now in this position. But take nothing away from Bournemouth and Semenyo! By Harry Bamforth Bernd Leno, what are you doing? ? West Ham restore their two-goal lead and it's another absolute gift of a goal. Leno dilly-dallies on the ball on the edge of the area, Danny Ings poaches it off him and Lucas Paqueta strokes it into an empty net. That was truly terrible goalkeeping. By Harry Bamforth I spoke too soon! We finally do get our goal and my word it's a thing of beauty. Just after Brentford thought they had taken the lead, Phil Foden gets on the end of a stunning Kevin De Bruyne cross to turn home. It's a stunning counter-attack. The cross is stunning, the finish is stunning, it's just all stunning. That is Manchester City at their best. By Harry Bamforth Oh, I thought we finally had a goal. .. Mikkel Damsgaard arrows the ball into the bottom corner but his joy is short-lived. The Dane was offside in the build-up and the flag goes up so, so quickly. Maybe we will never get a goal in this game. By Harry Bamforth Josko Gvardiol to the rescue for Manchester City! Yoane Wissa is away on the counter and it looks almost certain that he will score. Then out of nowhere, Gvardiol comes galloping into the area and slides in to deny Wissa as he pulls the trigger. That is one hell of a tackle! By Harry Bamforth How has there not been a goal in this game? It's chance after chance at the moment for Manchester City, but each one seems to somehow go wide. It's Savinho yet again but this time he smashes the ball inches past the post. It just won't go in! By Harry Bamforth David Brooks, you are one hell of a lucky lad. .. The Bournemouth midfielder seemingly pulls Marc Cucurella's hair as he breaks on the counter. Well, either that or he wacks him in the face, it's hard to tell. VAR takes a long look at it, with Rob Jones going to the screen. In the end, he is just given a yellow. Strange decision. By Harry Bamforth Fulham are back in it! Alex Iwopbi pulls a goal back for the visitors with a cross that goes all the way into the far corner. At first I though Raul Jimenez had tapped the ball home, but nope, Iwobi's cross just goes all the way in. Game on! By Harry Bamforth Justin Kluivert just doesn't miss penalties! The Bournemouth forward smashes the ball down the middle of the goal, giving Robert Sanchez no chance. Chelsea really have shot themselves in the foot here. By Harry Bamforth Oh, that is so unlucky from Savinho. .. The Manchester City winger produces a brilliant solo run before unleashing a low drive across goal. It's a run that deserves a goal but his shot cannons back off the far post. How is this game still 0-0? By Harry Bamforth Moises Caicedo, what are you doing? The Chelsea man makes a clumsy decision as he hauls Antoine Semenyo down in the area as he looks like he is away. Chelsea have been so dominant but have given the Cherries a chance out of nowhere. Justin Kluivert will step up. .. By Harry Bamforth Oh, Nathan Collins. .. How the defender has not just put Brentford ahead, I really do not know. He has a free header in the are following a free-kick and just needs to get it on target. But no, Collins nods it wide of the post and he can't quite believe it. .. neither can I. By Harry Bamforth Back underway at the Bridge. There have been no changes at the break and the teams look itching to get on the front foot. Chelsea will be desperate to add to their tally. By Harry Bamforth Right then, away we go again. The London Stadium is still rather empty as people get their half-time pies, but we are underway again. Can West Ham hold out for a huge win? By Harry Bamforth Jeez, that break went quickly. Both Brentford and Manchester City are back out on the pitch and ready to go again. Will we get goals in this second half? By Harry Bamforth By Harry Bamforth Oh, hello. .. Premier League leaders Liverpool are behind against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground. You'll never guess who scored it. That's right, Chris Wood. This match is still in its infancy though, so if you feel like checking it out, my colleague Tum Balogun is doing a belting job in a separate blog. Go check it out, below: By Harry Bamforth How good is Cole Palmer, eh? I mean, he is slowly starting to become just as loved as Eden Hazard during his time here. You may be shocked at that sentence, but the numbers back it up. .. Palmer has just become the first Chelsea player with 20 or more goal involvements in back-to-back Premier League campaigns since Hazard in his first three seasons at the club. Palmer is the new golden boy at the Bridge. By Harry Bamforth Cole Palmer may just be the coolest man in the Premier League. I mean, just look how relaxed he is as he runs through on goal, he never looked like missing. It's a brilliant finish in the end, but a lot of credit must go to Nicolas Jackson. He may be rubbish in front of goal at the moment, but that was brilliant build-up play, and the pass is lovely too. Watch and enjoy, Chelsea fans. By Harry Bamforth There goes the whistle. I am baffled at how there has only been one goal in this game, it really is crazy. Chelsea could easily have four or five, but they will just have to settle for the one scored by Cole Palmer. The scoring is far from finished here. By Harry Bamforth What a bizarre half of football. .. West Ham were up against it for the first half an hour, not even fashioning a shot. It looked like Fulham were destined to open the scoring but then out of nowhere, the Hammers scored twice in two minutes. Since then, the momentum has fully switched and West Ham look like they are enjoying their footie. It's all going to plan for Graham Potter. By Harry Bamforth We are level at the break. Both sides have had their chances, that's for sure, but the finishing has been pretty sub-par. I said there would be lots of goals but of course, there hasn't been. Commentator's curse and all that. By Harry Bamforth Oh dear. .. Kevin De Bruyne has just sent the ball onto the M4 with one of the worst shots I have seen all season. The midfielder has been miles off it today, he really has. By Harry Bamforth Nicolas Jackson just can't score at the moment. .. He has two bites at the cherry (I'm sorry), but yet again he can't find the back of the net. Cole Palmer whips in one hell of a ball for him to meet and he does so with a powerful header. Mark Travers does well to keep it out but the ball comes straight back to Jackson who is two yards out. But he can only find the side-netting with his second crack. Chelsea may rue all these misses. By James Sharpe At London Stadium By Harry Bamforth It's all popping off at Stamford Bridge now! Both teams manage to hit the post inside a minute, and I'm not sure how neither of them didn't go in. Justin Kuivert is the first to strike the woodwork and it's out of nowhere really. Chelsea then break and Nicolas Jackson is sent through and he arrows a lovely low drive toward the corner. But luck just isn't on his side and his effort smashes the post too. By Harry Bamforth How has Nicolas Jackson missed? Chelsea really should be two to the good but somehow Jackson can't find the net. Noni Maduek skips away into the box and pulls the ball back for Jackson to score, and you just expect him to. But no, he blazes the ball high over the bar. .. By Harry Bamforth Two in two minutes! What's the saying again. .. oh yeah, they come like London buses! Out of nowhere, West Ham have a second and it's courtesy of Tomas Soucek. Aaron Wan-Bissaka pulls the ball back for Soucek and he makes no mistake from six yards out. The London Stadium is going bananas! By Harry Bamforth That one's going to count! It's been all Fulham but it's West Ham who take the lead, and my word it's a gift. Andreas Pereira gives the ball away at the back and it ends up with Carlos Soler. The midfielder picks his corner and beautifully bends the ball home. That was exactly what Graham Potter needed, he is going nuts! By Harry Bamforth This game is utter chaos! It's become really end-to-end and Manchester City really should be ahead now. The carnage starts as Matheus Nunues races away on his own and just has to pull the trigger in the area. Instead, he opts to cut back and loses the ball before Brentford then fly forward in numbers. Guess what? Yep, Brentford then lose the ball and City counter their counter. It's bonkers. Eventually, the ball goes out of play as Savinho blasts one nearly out of the ground. I mean, why Nunes didn't shoot in the first place, I don't know. By Harry Bamforth What were you saying, James? Just as that last post was sent, West Ham had put the ball in the back of the net. Max Kilman gets on the end of a brilliant free-kick but the flag goes up almost instantly. That really would have been something considering they have done absolutely nothing in this game. Football, eh? By James Sharpe At London Stadium By Harry Bamforth Are Fulham going to rue all these misses? I'm not sure how they are not in front in this match but somehow West Ham are surviving. This time Antonee Robinson shows his rapid pace down the left as he breaks on the Hammers. He goes all on his own and rather than crossing in from the left he goes for goal. It's not the best of efforts and drifts wide of the post. By Harry Bamforth Oh, this is a shame. James Hill can't continue after picking up a knock and he is replaced by Justin Kluivert. He looks gutted as he leaves the pitch, he really does. I mean, what it has done is give Bournemouth some much-needed respite. They have been getting battered. By Harry Bamforth Brentford are playing with a certain swagger about them tonight. .. like if Austin Powers was encapsulated by a football team. They are causing Manchester City so many problems and yet again one of their forwards comes close. This time it's Yopane Wissa who finds himself in a decent position just inside the box, but he drags his effort wide. I mean, they are getting closer. By Kieran Gill At Stamford Bridge By Harry Bamforth I have just had a serious bout of de ja vu. .. Bryan Mbeumo has just nearly scored a carbon copy of the goal he netted against Arsenal on New Year's Day. Brentford break and Mbeumo is sent away down the right, he then cuts inside before having a pop. The winger tries to wrong-foot Stefan Ortega by going toward the near post with a low drive. However, Ortega, unlike David Raya, reacts well to beat the ball away. By Harry Bamforth West Ham are sitting so deep here. If Fulham push them any further back they will be in the stands behind the goal. It feels like just a matter of time before the visitors open the scoring. By Harry Bamforth Oh, it just had to be him, didn't it? London had been starting to warm up this week but a chill has just come across Stamford Bridge. Cole Palmer opens the scoring after a lovely bit of build-up play from Nicolas Jackson. The striker does brilliantly to dance away from three players in the middle before sliding a perfect through ball to Palmer. Palmer then delays his shot before sliding the ball past Mark Travers. What a lovely goal. By James Sharpe At London Stadium By Harry Bamforth Oh Cole, you cheeky man. .. Cole Palmer loves to try things out of the ordinary and this time he attempts a chip from the edge of the box. I mean, it's a bit of a weird decision and the ball drifts well wide, but it's Palmer so we will let him off. I'm sure he will pull off something crazy in this game, he usually does. By Harry Bamforth Manchester City need to be really wary of Yoane Wissa. City have started the better side but in a flash they are turned over by Brentford on the counter. Wissa has done damage to them before and he has a pop inside the box here. It's a team effort and rolls comfortably wide. By Harry Bamforth Ohhhh, that's so close form Harry Wilson! Fulham have been well on top at the London Stadium and they should be ahead. The ball drops to Wilson inside the area and he cannons it off the bar with a bizarre volley. I mean, he really should score there. .. big chance wasted. By Harry Bamforth By Harry Bamforth David Brooks is not a happy bunny! He holds his haw as he comes off the pitch for a 30-second break before coming back on. In that time he makes his feelings clear to the fourth official, and I think he has a point. It looked like a hefty hit to the face. By Harry Bamforth Oh, this doesn't look great for David Brooks. .. The Bournemouth man has been down in the centre circle for quite some time now. He looks in quite a lot of discomfort after being bundled over by Marc Cucurella off the ball. That was a little naughty from the Spaniard. .. By Harry Bamforth Oh, nearly the perfect start from Chelsea! The Blues have come flying out of the traps and Enzo Fernandez should score inside 60 seconds. They flow forward with some brilliant one-touch passing before Fernandez finds the ball at his feet in space inside the area. But he takes a terrible touch and allows Mark Travers to come out and collect the ball. Had he just shot, it would be 1-0! By Harry Bamforth Right then, all three of our feature matches are underway. All of the matches will have a huge impact on what the table looks like come the end of the evening. Let's all strap in and enjoy the ride! By Harry Bamforth KLight shows seem to be the normal pre-match these days. I am covering three Premier League matches tonight and all three of them are bringing out the fireworks and lights before the team goes out. I love just the one, but watching three last once is a little overstimulating, I have to say. Oh well, it means the games are nearly upon us, so I won't moan too much. Are well all as excited as I am? By James Sharpe At London Stadium By Jack Gaughan At Gtech Community Stadium By Harry Bamforth That Cobghma defence is going to have to sure things up tonight. One of the reasons Chelsea have fallen off in the last few games is because they have been leaking goals. I mean, it has been a problem all season. Chelsea have only kept one clean sheet at home all campaign, which is simply not good enough. It's going to be tough for them to change that statistic tonight, that's for sure. But there is no time like the present. By Kieran Gill At Stamford Bridge By Harry Bamforth How excited are we all? I mean, you should be because we are under 20 minutes from all three games getting underway. I can just feel that tonight is going to be a cracker, all three games look like they will deliver. Knowing me though, I will have just cursed them all. .. By Harry Bamforth Joe Hart, former Man City goalkeeper, on TNT Sports: By Harry Bamforth Alexa, play Skyfall by Adele. .. This really could be the end for Kyle Walker at Manchester City, he has been left out of the squad altogether tonight. Pep Guardiola confirmed that Walker is exploring opportunities elsewhere after City's FA Cup win over Salford. I mean, he hasn't been the best this season but it was still a shock to hear that from Guardiola. With clubs hunting for his signature and Walker seemingly out of Guardiola's plans, he seems destined to leave. We will all just have to see what happens. By Harry Bamforth Who doesn't love a Premier League match under the lights? There are lots of smiling faces making their way to Stamford Bridge right now, and many are already inside. The Chelsea faithful will need to really be on their team's side tonight if they are to help them get out of this rut. The Bridge can be special when it wants to be, and it needs to be tonight. By Harry Bamforth Guys, we might be in for a fiery battle at the Bridge tonight. The last time both Chelsea and Bournemouth faced off, it was handbags galore. There was a Premier League record 14 yellow cards in the reverse fixture, which Chelsea won. I mean, that's crazy, right? By Kieran Gill At Stamford Bridge By Harry Bamforth West Ham are in a new era. .. again. Julen Lopetegui's stint at the club didn't quite go to plan and it has left them languishing deep in the bottom half. Now they have Graham Potter, who is aiming to get them in a position that reflects the quality of their squad. I mean, their players have been vastly underperforming this season. Potter's start at the helm didn't go to plan at the weekend, with his side losing in the FA Cup away at Aston Villa. However, he only had two days to prepare them for that match. Now he has had a few more, it will be interesting to see if he has been able to make much difference. His first port of call needs to be sorting out the defence, so a clean sheet tonight would be massive. I doubt they will be able to keep one against this Fulham team, but we will have to wait and see. Can they prove me wrong? By Harry Bamforth Josko Gvardiol, Man City defender, speaking to TNT Sports: By Harry Bamforth Bryan Mbeumo is having a ridiculously good season, isn't he? I mean, only Mohamed Salah and Erling Haaland have scored more goals than him in the Premier League this season. He even has the same amount of league goals as the high-flying Alexander Isak. Yep, you read that right. Mbuemo has scored 13 league goals from an x G of just 6. 25, giving him an overperformance of 6. 75. That's the biggest of any player across Europe's big 5 leagues. I mean, I think it's fair to say Mbeumo is overachieving slightly this season, or maybe that's unfair. He is just clinical. By Harry Bamforth Romeo, Romeo, where for art thou Romeo? Oh, there he is. .. Romeo Lavia is back in a Premier League starting line-up for Chelsea since their thumping of Tottenham last month. The Blues really missed him. I mean, without him they have gone on this major blip I form. They will be happy to have him back and it seems he is happy to be back himself. Just look at that smile. By Harry Bamforth Chris Sutton, It's All Kicking Off! co-host, on BBC Sport: By Harry Bamforth I use this sub-heading a lot and it just never gets old. I mean, it's true too. Chelsea have loved playing Bournemouth in recent times. The Blues are unbeaten in their last six meetings with the Cherries, winning four of those. That includes their 1-0 win over the Cherries back in September, in which Christopher Nkunku scored an 86th-minute winner. Can Chelsea extend that run this evening? By James Sharpe At London Stadium By Harry Bamforth Guys, we should all expect bags of goals at the Gtech tonight. Why, you ask? Well, Brentford's home games always seem to provide entertainment, there are tons of goals each week. It's the place to be if you want to have fun. There have been 46 goals scored in 10 Premier League matches at the Gtech Community Stadium this season. While 27 of them have been for the Bees, they have also conceded 19 and not kept a clean sheet at home all campaign. Cue the 0-0. .. By Jack Gaughan At Gtech Community Stadium By Harry Bamforth Emile Smith-Rowe is back in town! After being benched for the draw against Ipswich, the attacking midfielder returns to replace Tom Cairney. Andreas Pereira, who has been linked with a move away, also comes in to replace Issa Diop. A pretty attacking team. .. By Harry Bamforth Graham Potter is ringing the changes. Five players drop out from Julen Lopetegui's last match as West Ham boss. Alphonse Areola, Jean-Clair Todibo, Crysencio Summerville and Niclas Fullkrug are four of them and they don't even make the bench. Carlos Soler, Emerson, Lukasz Fabianski, Kostas Mavropanos and Guido Rodriguez all come in. By Harry Bamforth Pep Guardiola has practically reverted to the side that thumped West Ham. Only one player dopesn't keep his place and that is Rico Lewis who is replaced by Matheus Nunes. Other than that, this City side looks fairly strong, although I bet Ederson is miffed about being on the bench again. Is Stefan Ortega now the number one? By Harry Bamforth Thomas Frank has decided to make just the one change from the side that thumped Southampton 10 days ago. Kevin Schade is replaced by Vitaly Janelt as the Dane seemingly changes his approach. Does it suggest he will go defensive. .. surely not. By Harry Bamforth Bournemouth are playing without a striker after the injuries to both Evanilson and Enes Unal. It looks like Antoine Semenoy will fill the void up top. David Brooks and Tyler Adams are the only two changes to the side that beat Everton in their last league game. By Harry Bamforth So, we have our answer. Reece James will not be involved from the start and instead, Moises Caicedo will fill the position. Rome Lavia, however, is thrown into the starting line-up to pair up with Enzo Fernandez in the middle. Josh Acheampong once again partners Levi Colwill while Noni Madueke is fit enough to start. Happy, Chelsea fans? By Harry Bamforth Will he or won't he? Reece James' luck with injuries has been terrible once again this season. I mean, the bloke can't catch a break. He has only made four appearances in the Premier League this season, not starting a game in the top flight since Chelsea's draw away at Manchester United in November. Well, after completing 45 minutes at the weekend against Morecambe, James is full fit once again. On his day, James is one of the best full-backs on the planet, there is no doubt about that. So, with that being said, he should surely be a shoo-in to start when available. However, Chelsea simply can't depend on his fitness. His hamstring could just go at any minute. The team news is out in a matter of minutes and it will be interesting to see if he starts tonight. What do you think, should he? By Harry Bamforth Yep, there is yet another London Derby today. I mean, I always say this, but in the Premier League, there is one practically every week. This time it's West Ham and Fulham who face off, with Graham Potter taking charge of the Hammers at the London Stadium for the very first time. It's fair to say, the form of these two teams could not be more different. West Ham have lost their last three games in all competitions, scoring just two goals and conceding 11. Meanwhile, the Cottagers have not lost a single game since their humiliating defeat at the hands of Wolves in late November. On paper, Fulham should go to the east side and get the job done, right? Well, football isn't played on paper. .. Potter will be desperate for the new era at West Ham to have a positive start in the Premier League. It's set to be a cracker. By Harry Bamforth How does that song by The Clash go again? Oh yeah, I remember now. .. 'London calling to the faraway towns! ' Tonight Manchester City are back in the big smoke and their swagger seems to have returned. Pep Guardiola's side have won their last three games in all competitions, including two league matches. They have scored 14 goals in those games too - confidence is certainly growing in front of goal. They travel to a Brentford side whose previously brilliant home record has started to falter. The Bees have lost their last three matches at home, including a shock defeat in the FA Cup to Plymouth at the weekend. If City can go to west London and win, they will be well on their way to making a dent on the top four positions. Watch out everyone, City are starting to find their groove again. By Harry Bamforth Chelsea are in a bit of a slump, aren't they? I mean, just this time last month we were talking about them challenging for the Premier League title. After beating Brentford in mid-December, the Blues went within two points of league leaders Liverpool. Well, now they are 10 points off them and the Reds have a game in hand. Enzo Maresca's side have been in terrible form - they have picked up just two points from a possible 12. That includes losses to both Fulham and Ipswich. .. Now there are discussions over whether they will even get in the top four, which seemed unimaginable before Christmas. Chelsea simply need points, and they need them now. Tonight they face a Bournemouth side who haven't lost a league match since November, winning five of their last eight. It's going to be a tough test but one the Blues need to pass. By Harry Bamforth Right then, before we get into the juicy stuff, let's go through a quick rundown of tonight's itinerary. As I have already said, we will cover three of tonight's Premier League matches in this very blog. However, if you fancy seeing what's going on between Nottingham Forest and Liverpool, there will be a separate live text for that. Here is the full schedule for tonight: By Harry Bamforth Oh, yes. .. the Premier League is back! It may have only been nine days since we last had the delight of watching the English top flight, but it's felt like a lifetime. Tonight it returns with a bang as we have four tasty fixtures that are sure to get you all excited. Well, that's how I feel so I am assuming it will have the same effect on everybody who is reading this. Anyway, three of those games are in this blog, and I'll tell you what, you will be licking your lips when you see what's in store. The main attraction is Chelsea's battle with Bournemouth, but Manchester City also face Brentford while West Ham host Fulham. You can't tell me those are not mouth-watering fixtures, come on. .. Anyway, that's enough of an introduction for what is going to be a brilliant night of footie, eh? Let's get this show on the road.
