He was replaced by Andre Onana, and spent a year out of the game as a free agent before joining Fiorentina in the summer. De Gea, now 33, has proven himself to be the undisputed No 1 at the club since, and impressed once again as his side beat Genoa 1-0 on Thursday evening.
