Dayot Upamecano's existing contract expires next summer Bayern Munich expect Dayot Upamecano to sign a new contract, with the defender in advanced talks over committing his future to the Bundesliga side. As it stands Upamecano is out of contract at the end of the season, meaning he would be able to sign a pre-contract agreement with a new club at the turn of the year. The France international has been the subject of major interest from top European clubs given the uncertainty over his future. Premier League clubs Liverpool and Chelsea have been linked with the former RB Leipzig player, while Real Madrid and Paris St-Germain are also credited with an interest. However, it is understood the 27-year-old has held positive discussions with Bayern in recent weeks, with sources indicating the German side are now expecting the central defender to sign fresh terms. BBC Sport has been told Bayern will remain in the market for a new centre-back for next season even if Upamecano signs a new deal. Upamecano is one of a host of high-profile central defenders who are set to be available on a free transfer at the end of the season. Liverpool centre-back Ibrahima Konate, Crystal Palace skipper Marc Guehi and Real Madrid duo Antonio Rudiger and David Alaba are all out of contract next summer.
