Ben Brereton Diaz has scored over 70 goals across more than 300 senior appearances Derby County have signed striker Ben Brereton Diaz on loan from Southampton for the rest of the season. Brereton Diaz, 26, spent the second half of last season on loan at Sheffield United, having joined the Saints from Villarreal in the summer of 2024. He scored four goals in 18 games, helping the Blades reach the Championship play-off final in his second spell at the club. "I'm really pleased to get this sorted, " Brereton Diaz said. "It is something that has been going on for the last week or so. I'm delighted to be here, and I can't wait to get started with the lads. "At the end of the day, it's a great club - so it's a no-brainer. " Having begun his career at Derby's rivals Nottingham Forest, he made his debut in 2017 before moving to Blackburn two years later. He has won 35 caps for Chile, having discovered he was eligible through his mother's family, and scored seven international goals. Brereton Diaz is the Rams' 13th signing of the summer, and will hope to make an instant impact under Eustace, whose side are winless in their opening four Championship games.
