Hannah Hampton will miss England's friendly against Brazil at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday; the 24-year-old has sustained an elbow injury; the Lionesses have three other goalkeepers in the squad, but none of them have a senior cap Friday 24 October 2025 12: 45, UK Please use Chrome browser for a more accessible video player Sarina Wiegman has confirmed two more players will be absent from England's friendly against Brazil on Saturday. Earlier this week, Grace Clinton, Katie Reid and Jess Park withdrew from the Lionesses squad, with Grace Fisk and Jess Naz called up as replacements as a result. Speaking in a press conference on Friday morning, Wiegman confirmed both Hannah Hampton and Lotte Wubben-Moy would also miss out. "Hannah Hampton is not available for tomorrow. She has a small elbow injury. She'll be assessed and we'll see how that goes on Tuesday, " Wiegman said. "I have made the decision [about who will replace her], but, of course, I'll inform the team first before I inform you! " Khiara Keating of Man City, Anna Moorhouse of Orlando Pride and Sophie Baggaley of Brighton are Wiegman's options to deputise for Hampton. "Lotte (Wubben-Moy) went home as she felt unwell, so she's recovering at home, " Wiegman continued.

"It's always a test [when players are out] and it's really good we have four friendlies over the next couple of months. "What you also want to do is try out new things, see new players, try different combinations, so there's a huge opportunity and it's necessary because we have some injuries and a retired player. " With Leah Williamson still recovering from injury, Wiegman also confirmed who her captain would be for Saturday's game at the Etihad Stadium. "Keira (Walsh) will be the captain tomorrow. "Alex (Greenwood) is in the captain's group, but when Leah's not available, Keira's the captain. " She continued: "Lucy Bronze is available and she's still building. As always, she's ready to start. Whether she's going to start, you'll see tomorrow. "Her consistency and the way she expresses herself, or conducts herself, on the pitch and off the pitch. .. she's so tough and she makes such a huge contribution. "I think she impacts some of the players' lives, just by helping them, supporting them whenever they need something. But at the same time, she has great levels on the pitch, which is why I pick her. "When all these extras come with it, that really helps the team moving forward. " Sky Sports News' Anton Toloui: All of England's three goalkeepers in the squad for Brazil have no caps. England's back-up midfielders of Missy Bo Kearns, Laura Blindkilde Brown and Lucia Kendall have a total of two substitute appearances. Grace Fisk and Taylor Hinds could also make their debuts in defence. Mixed with a new backroom staff, this could be a very different England over the next two games. That being said, it probably won't be. Despite all the talk of experimentation from Sarina Wiegman, expect her to stick with her experienced players from the start against Brazil on Saturday. England have two years to prepare for the World Cup, it could be argued now is the time to fully utilise the new blood in the squad. But that level of trust is hard to earn under Wiegman, it'll be interesting to see who gets a chance. Super 6 are starting the season by guaranteeing a £1, 000, 000 winner! Play for free.
