This video can not be played Esther Morgan grateful for unbelievable Euros experience "It's never the plan as a footballer to have played for as many clubs as I have. " Esther Morgan cannot quite hide the smile on her face as she considers her recent transfer history. The Wales full-back joined Bristol City this summer, her seventh club since 2021 and she is still aged only 23. As a Tottenham Hotspur player she had loan spells at Leicester City, Coventry United and Sunderland before a move to Scottish side Hearts in 2023. Injuries blighted her time in Edinburgh so having seen out her contract with a loan spell at Sheffield United, she is now desperate to find a settled home at Women's Super League 2 club Bristol City. "What has been important in my career so far is that I've had a lot of game time and a lot of opportunities at different clubs, " she said. "[But] it's quite nice knowing I'm not going to move around for the next couple of years and I can cement my place. "Coming off a busy summer with the Euros I needed some time to reset. "I had a couple of conversations with different clubs [but] had a talk with Charlotte [Healy, Bristol City head coach] and when I saw the facilities here, it felt like home. "It's really close to my family across the bridge in Wales and it felt like the right place at the right time. I'm just delighted. " Ingle seeks confidence and Wales caps in Bristol Wales return to Newport for Poland friendly Bristol City Women taken over by Mercury13 After a busy summer in which she started all three of Wales' games at Euro 2025, it is little wonder Morgan felt at home at Bristol with some familiar faces around. Morgan has been joined at Ashton Gate by international team-mate Sophie Ingle, with the two lift sharing across the River Severn every day. "Me and Soph's mum live about 15 minutes away so we've just been taking it in turns picking each other up, it's been great, " she added. "We've been roommates so we can sit in silence and it's brilliant or we can have chats about random stuff like what television shows we want to be on. "Strictly, if you want me on, how cool would it be to learn to dance? " Esther Morgan has 11 Wales caps Morgan has also been reunited with her former Wales under-15s coach Loren Dykes, now assistant at Bristol City, and said she feels like a "sponge" as she learns from a fellow full-back. "I probably annoy her every time she speaks because I ask questions. Every week I'm like, 'Loz, clips please', " said Morgan. "She's underrated as a coach. She does so much work that's so valuable to all of us. It's been incredible to learn under her again. "I'm getting challenged in training every day and it's exciting for what we can achieve this season. We want promotion and I wouldn't have come to a club that's not ambitious like that.
