The latest round of Europa League is upon us and talk SPORT is here to keep you up to date with all the latest news and reaction. New Manchester United head coach got his forst win as a Ramsus Hojlund double helped the Red Devils to an unconvincing 3-2 victory over Bodo/Glimt. Tottenham were denied three points against Roma because Mats Hummels popped up with a late equaliser in a 2-2 draw. Chelsea also returned to Europa Conference League action and maintained their 100 per cent record with a 2-0 win in Germany over Heidenheim. Thursday, November 28 Tottenham are preparing for their first game back in Europe tomorrow night after a year away. Spurs failed to qualify for any competition in Antonio Conte's final year, meaning Ange Postecoglou was without continental fixtures. But after finishing fifth in the Premier League in his first season, Postecolgou has his side back in the Europa League. And he's delighted to have led the club there, saying at his pre-Qarabag press conference: "We're pleased to be back there and excited to be back in it. "I spoke about it last year how it was a bit of a gap in our calendar that didn't help us at certain times in the year not having that regular football. "And also having different types of challenges and exposing our whole squad to some meaningful time on the pitch. "I think sitting around and watching other teams play, it didn't sit well with me either. "So to be back in a European competition is important. " Marcus Rashford was benched against Crystal Palace as part of Erik ten Hag’s rotation but he’s likely to be back in the team tonight. Rasmus Hojlund returned to the bench at the weekend and could return to the starting line-up at Old Trafford too. Left-backs Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia are both getting closer to a return from injury, but this game is too soon for them.   Leny Yoro and Victor Lindelof remain out while Mason Mount is fit and Manuel Ugarte could make his first start for the Red Devils.   As for Twente, they will likely have former Rangers striker Sam Lammers leading the line.   And Sem Steijn will be a major threat with Ricky van Wolfswinkel a name many will recognise expected to come off the bench.   Official team news will be announced in just over an hour. .. Manchester has been taken over by Twente fans! The Dutch supporters are lining the streets as they get ready for a huge game at Old Trafford tonight. They are chanting, banging their drums and letting off flares, getting in the mood to take on Man United. It's going to be a great atmosphere at the ground judging by these scenes and Twente will definitely feel well backed from the stands! Usually, the Europa League is a staple for Thursday nights. However, this campaign is strangely starting on a Wednesday. And that's due to UEFA's fixture revamp across European competitions. The Europa League now includes 36 teams instead of the typical 32 and they are playing in a league phase rather than a group stage. This means there are more fixtures than usual and therefore it has led to a busier calendar for many top teams. So to combat that, UEFA has now chosen to hold a single exclusive gameweek for each competition. The Champions League had theirs last week and now the Europa League takes over. It means fixtures are planned for Wednesday and Thursday this week, with United vs Twente scheduled for the first night tonight. Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that Tottenham have no new injuries ahead of their Europa League tie against Qarabag. Spurs will be without Cristian Romero through suspension after he was sent off in the Champions League in March 2023. Tottenham haven't played a European game since, so the ban has yet to be served. But apart from Romero, Postecoglou is looking at pretty much a full squad, and he indicated he will be playing a strong team. Speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of Spurs' game tomorrow night, he said: "We're looking good. "Nothing from the weekend in terms of injuries, everyone pulled up really well so no issues there. "We've got a squad, a squad of players that we went into the season hoping to play 50-plus games in a year and you're not going to expect players to play all of them. You're hoping for around 35 games. "We don't really want to rotate hugely for each game. " Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has previewed the Europa League and its new format this season. Speaking ahead of his side's game at Old Trafford, Ten Hag said: "Yeah, it's tonight we have our first impressions. "Last week, I followed the Champions League in the same format, and it looks like every game is significant and every goal is significant. "Even so, we know what to do. We have to win tomorrow because it's the first match in this league and we have eight games to go. "So you have your first home game and you have to win this game. " Hello and welcome to your hub for all the latest news and updates in the Europa League this campaign! The brand-new format of the competition kicks off tonight, with the 36-team league phase beginning. We'll have you covered throughout this evening as well for every European gameweek this season.
