Goals from Keelan Adams and Calvin Miller gave rampant Falkirk their fourth consecutive win as their Scottish Championship title tilt gathers more momentum. But for a series of superb stops from Airdrie goalkeeper Kieran Wright, the scoreline would have been far more emphatic. Gary Oliver, Calvin Miller and Ethan Ross were all denied, with Wright's save from Miller’s bending effort particularly impressive. Ben Wilson did head against the crossbar late on for bottom side Airdrie but, by that point, the damage had been done. Falkirk haven’t lost at home in the league for over a year-and-a-half - a stat which was never in much danger against a side who haven’t won since the opening day. With just over half an hour played, Airdrie couldn’t clear a corner and Adams smashed home from close range. Only Wright's heroics prevented Falkirk going further ahead but he did finally concede again after an hour, when Miller was on hand to tap in after fine work down the Falkirk right by Adams, who looks a fine prospect. Airdrie had no answer to the Falkirk's passing, movement and energy and, with John Mc Glynn’s men now six points clear, they will take some catching in the title race. Few would now bet against them earning back-to-back promotions. Falkirk manager John Mc Glynn: “I think we’re ahead of schedule. Did we expect to be top of the table, six points clear? No, not at all. "We wanted to be competitive and the guys have shown they can step and they can still play good football in this league. "The crowds are getting bigger and bigger so it’s a case of so far, so good. It’s just a matter of trying to let it continue. ” Last Updated 9th November 2024 at 16: 57 Please Note: All times UK.
