A fan in the away end made the allegation following the 2-0 victory for the home side in Lancashire. Over the weekend, police confirmed that they were investigating the incident, and Daily Mail Sport understands that the FA has now launched its own review. Mejbri, who came through the ranks at Manchester Unted, came on after 83 minutes and was booked in added time. Last season, the 22-year-old Tunisia international appeared to taunt Leeds supporters when he was substituted during Burnley’s 1-0 Championship win at Elland Road, raising his arms aloft as he made his way behind the goal and to the dugouts. A Lancashire Police spokesperson said: ‘Lancashire Police are aware of an alleged incident involving a Burnley player during the second half of the Premier League game between Burnley and Leeds United at Turf Moor.
