Steve Evans has earned cult hero status for his time in the dugout across spells at the likes of Leeds United, Gillingham and Stevenage. During his second spell at Rotherham last season, the 62-year-old was targeted on social media by ex-Premier League midfielder Joey Barton. After the club posted a series of photos of Evans running a training session last summer, Barton took to X (formerly Twitter) to reignite a feud with Evans dating back to his own time as a manager. 'How can you demand athletic outputs from professional men with a body like a bin liner full of milk? 'Should you be sacked as the leader of a sports team for being that out of shape? #beingfatisnotgood' A former football league manager has shown off a dramatic transformation after shedding six stone Joey Barton previously referred to ex-Rotherham boss Steve Evans as a 'fat man' Evans departed the Millers in May following his second spell in charge of the Yorkshire club The pair had previously clashed when the then-Bristol Rovers boss Barton had called Evans a 'fat man' after his side were held to a 1-1 draw by a Stevenage side coached by the Scotsman. 'Obviously, the fat man's going bananas at the referee which is normal for the end of a game, ' Barton said at the time.   'Every referee at this level knows they're going to get the weeble wobbling across the pitch and berating them. '  Barton was sacked by Rovers following the game and has yet to return to management. Meanwhile, since leaving Rotherham in May Evans has embarked on a dramatic transformation. The former striker revealed on Sky Sports that he has lost an incredible six stone (38KG) since departing the dugout. The change left fans on social media stunned, with one writing: 'Just seen Steve Evans on Sky Sports. 'Wow, looks so well, lost 6 stone. I had years with Steve at Crawley Town after he gave me my first real pro experience in coaching. Love him or hate him, it’s where I learnt to WIN. Go well Gaffer' Another agreed: 'Jesus Steve Evans has lost some timber. ' A third added: 'Crikey, I just saw Steve Evans on Sky and he’s lost over 6 stone in weight, so fair play to him. I know we love to dislike him and I was wondering about the scenes if he got appointed our manager. '
