Jude Bellingham was looking to spark Real Madrid's attacking trio into life during half-time of their La Liga opener. Los Blancos kicked off their domestic season with a 1-1 draw away to Mallorca, and the Englishman had some words of advice for their newly-formed front line of Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo. Footage from inside the tunnel at the midway point shows Bellingham urging his teammates to kill the game off, with the Spanish champions leading 1-0 at the break thanks to Rodrygo's 13th-minute stunner. In the video, the 21-year-old addresses the three forwards: “You three, we need to finish the attack, because the running back… is f***ing hard. ” Real's new superstar Kylian Mbappe, who was making his league debut, was in agreement, as he then chimed in: “That’s what I’m saying. We have to finish with something. ” Bellingham finished by instructing the feared trio to be more ruthless, adding: "Yeah, even create a yard and [shoot]. " Unfortunately for Real however, the England star's words did not have the desired effect, as Mallorca equalised shortly afterwards with Vedat Muriqi heading in an equaliser in the 53rd minute. But things could have been even worse for Carlo Ancelotti's side, as their opponents then spurned two late chances to steal all three points through substitute Antonio Sanchez. Their disappointment was then compounded when Ferland Mendy was shown a straight red card for a reckless tackle in the final minute. It proved to be a particularly frustrating night for Mbappe, who would have fancied his chances of another big performance after netting on his club debut in the Super Cup earlier in the week. However, the French superstar found himself nullified for large parts, and frequently drifted off to the left-wing despite starting as the central striker, causing himself and Vinicius to get in each other's way. This was the first time in four years that Real have failed to win their opening league game, since they played out a 0-0 draw with Real Sociedad at the start of the 2020/21 campaign. And manager Ancelotti made his feelings clear after the match, reflecting: "We lacked balance. I am not happy with the draw because we could have done better. "We needed more attitude. We can learn a lot from this game because it seems clear where we could have a problem. " Bellingham will now be hoping his words of wisdom can instead prove useful next week, where they will look to go one further with a win in their second league game at home to Real Valladolid.
