Alex Iwobi, Kenny Tete and Andreas Pereira all had efforts on goal but the hosts could not find a breakthrough before Wilson looped the ball over Flekken from Adama Traore's cross. With time running out Antonee Robinson clipped in a cross and Wilson stooped down and headed the ball high into the net, sparking wild scenes around the stadium. Coming into this match Brentford had dropped more points from winning positions than any team in the league, and that tendency repeated itself in brutal fashion as they left Craven Cottage empty handed. Midfielder Pereira had created the most chances of any player in the Premier League coming into this match but it was after he left the field that Fulham looked the most likely to score. Fulham had relentlessly put balls into the box and it was that tactic which paid off with Wilson getting on the end of two crosses to score late on with impressive finishes.
