By HARRY BAMFORTH, LIVE SPORTS COVERAGE REPORTER and LEWIS STEELE, FOOTBALL REPORTER Updated: 05: 57 AEDT, 11 March 2026 88 View comments Follow Daily Mail Sport's live blog for the latest score, team news and updates as Galatasaray welcome Liverpool to RAMs Park in the last-16 of the Champions League, with Lewis Steele reporting from the ground. Ibrahima Konate had a stinker here in September, and he's not been much better tonight. He makes yet another mistake and Virgil van Dijk has to mop up behind him. Moments later, Galatasaray come back at Liverpool, Konate is out of position, and it means a wicked cross makes it all the way to Giorgi Mamardashvilli. The keeper just about deals with it. Mohamed Salah still can't beat his man. Yet again, he gets the ball on the right and starts running at Noa Lang, looking to jink inside and get a shot away. But it's far too obvious a move, and he loses the ball. So close! Liverpool have started the second half as well as they started the first, and are inches from an equaliser. Joe Gomez's long throw drops to Alexis Mac Allister, and he drives the ball toward the far corner. But it rolls agonisingly wide. Phoar. .. We know dominik Szoboszlai can hit them, and boy, has he hit that one. The midfielder piledrives a stinger toward goal from 25 yards out, and it stings the palms of the keeper. Good effort, that. The whistles are back, so you know what that means. Yes, the Liverpool players have just emerged from the tunnel for the second half. Can they make a first leg comeback? We are about to find out. Off we go again. Stephen Warnock, former Liverpool full-back, on Radio 5 Live: Arne Slot will not want to watch this back. Liverpool had started incredibly well in this match, before this happened. Galatasaray's first attack led to a corner, which led to terrible defending from Liverpool, and Mario Lemina nodding in the opener. Far too easy. We've seen this story before. .. Liverpool start well, don't take their chances, concede through silly defending, and are 1-0 down at the break to Galatasaray. This happened in September, and is happening again. But can Liverpool turn it around in the second half this time? I'm not so sure. There will be just two minutes of stoppage time in the first half. What a mental one its been. Wait, what? How is that not a foul? Hugo Ekitike produces a great turn, gets goal side of Davinson Sanchez outside the box, and is then bundled over. Sounds likea foul, right? Apparently not. That was very nearly lovely. Liverpool finally string a decent attacking move together again, with Hugo Ekitike the architect. He crosses theball to the back post, Milos Kerkez nods it back across the goal, and Florian Wirtz heads into the keeper's gloves. Almost an incredible counter from Liverpool. Giorgi Mamardashvilli catches the ball and instantly launches it up to Mohamed Salah, who plays a give-and-go. He looks for Dominik Szoboszlai at the back post, and only a Davinson Sanchez interception denies an equaliser. Galatasaray definitely have atmosphere
