A lovely cross from James Maddison and Pedro Porro finds the net. Spurs fans erupt, silence from the home supporters. Advertisement I wasn't sure about Johnson starting over Kulusevski but look at his defensive work so far down that right-hand side. 27' Leicester 0-0 Tottenham The home fans like that! Left-back Victor Kristiansen goes on aa marauding run down the touchline, but Brennan Johnson slides in with a cracking, meaty challenge to win the ball, and sets off in the opposite direction. But the Dane sprints back to recover, and wins the ball back again when Johnson slips. The home fans roar their approval. Getty Images 25' Leicester 0-0 Tottenham Leicester, whose best spells of possession have come with former Tottenham midfielder Harry Winks, pictured, at the heart of their moves, are spending long periods without the ball. They've given up seven shots, four on target, and more than two-thirds of the ball. And yet, it's still 0-0. Getting through tough periods unscathed is an important and useful skill. 20' Leicester 0-0 Tottenham Muted appeals for a penalty as Maddison bursts into the Leicester box, skips past a tackle, and lays it across the area. Dominic Solanke uses his body well, letting the ball run across him and looking to draw the lunge from his marker Jannik Vestergaard. Vestergaard, the Dane, does dive in somewhat, flicking his leg at the ball around Solanke, and there might be contact. .. Solanke flops down and asks for a spot-kick. Chris Kavanagh waves it away, and it's the right call. Not enough in it by a long shot. Tottenham have looked very threatening from set-pieces so far. Johnson flashed a volley straight at Hermansen and then Solanke's header from Son's cross went straight into Hermansen's arms. Solanke was offside but he has looked busy in the opening 10 minutes of his Spurs debut. Advertisement That's why Leicester have signed Oliver Skipp. .. Wilfred Ndidi has lost possession in dangerous areas on at least three occasions now and has just done so inside his own box which almost presented an open goal to Maddison. Ndidi is a destructive player, but not an intricate ball-player. He isn't comfortable in tight situations. Getty Images 13' Leicester 0-0 Tottenham Leicester look all over the shop defensively. Pedro Porro crosses for Cristian Romero, who nods it narrowly wide, with Hermansen diving after it desperately. Then Son slid it to Maddison inside the box, blocked. Fatawu, who looks a little rash and raw so far (understandable, he's 20 and it's his Premier League debut), brings down Van de Ven. A free-kick bent in by Maddison, cleared, then Pedro Porro crosses to Solanke, flicked goalwards nicely, Hermansen grabs it. 11' Leicester 0-0 Tottenham Shortly after that double chance for the visitors, Dominic Solanke was found at the back post by a nice loopy cross, but didn't quite make the right contact on the header, putting it straight into Hermansen's arms. Then two corners in quick succession, a Leicester defender unconvincingly flicking it behind for another corner. Eventually cleared. Knocking on the door. .. Getty Images A decent start from Spurs. Dominating the ball in Leicester half. Threatened from a few corners. They look themselves so far, like they're able to play their natural game. Which might mean they're vulnerable on the break. .. but let's wait and see. A great goalline clearance from Ndidi and then a great save from Hermansen. Spurs are certainly in the ascendancy. Advertisement Getty Images 6' Leicester 0-0 Tottenham Tottenham almost scored twice inside 10 seconds! How has that stayed out? Son Heung-min, faced up by James Justin and Abdul Fatawu inside the penalty area, did well to keep hold of the ball and eventually win a corner from the Ghanaian. It was swung in by James Maddison, flicked on by Rodrigo Bentancur and looked to be goalbound before a fantastic, acrobatic clearance from Wilfred Ndidi on the line. Ndidi took it off the toes of Cristian Romero and Dom Solanke! Then, seconds later, Brennan Johnson controlled it beautifully before smashing a volley across goal towards the top-left corner. .. beaten away by Mads Hermansen. Steve Cooper frowns on the touchline. Under pressure from two players just outside his own box, Vicario, somehow, effortlessly fakes a pass and evades the challenges before finding Pedro Porro. Interesting that Jannik Vestergaard, a natural left footed defender, is on the right of the two central defenders. That is because when Leicester attack they will go to a three with Justin on the right, Faes on the left and Vestergaard in the middle, allowing Kristiansen to be the attacking player. Getty Images Rest easy, Craig. 2' Leicester 0-0 Tottenham Decent start for Leicester, smacking a long ball forward in aim of Jamie Vardy, who is one-on-one in challenging for the loose ball with Pedro Porro, eliciting a roar from the home fans. But Porro does well to get a foot in. Moments later, Guglielmo Vicario dallies while being closed down, but calmly side-steps his opponent and plays a through ball forward for Porro. Composed. Advertisement The boos for James Maddison just cranked up a level when his name was read out by the stadium announcer. He tends to thrive being the pantomime villain though so I'm sure it will not bother him too much. Referee Chris Kavanagh blows his whistle and we are up and running at the King Power Stadium in the East Midlands. Let's get into it! Rob Tanner/The Athletic Both sets of players stand around the centre circle and applaud heartily for the late, great Craig Shakespeare.
