Listen to Sportsound commentary from Tynecastle Kyogo forces in opener after Gordon makes fine save, Kuhn flashes in stunning second, Idah rolls in third and adds fourth with late penalty Drammeh pulls one back with excellent strike Celtic go three clear at top & Hearts stay second bottom Nick Mc Pheat FT: Hearts 1-4 Celtic As for Celtic, it's now about a million domestic games unbeaten for them. Yes, their lead at the top might only be a slender one for now, but nobody is catching them in this form. Aberdeen are now three points behind. Rangers? Eleven! FT: Hearts 1-4 Celtic It's weird to think the game was goalless at half-time. Hearts and their fans would have been feeling good about themselves at that point, but that second period has changed the complexion. Fourteen games in and they are still second bottom on just nine points. That'll explain the booing from the home support. There's only so long you can say 'this squad is too good to be in a relegation battle'. FT: Hearts 1-4 Celtic Pat Bonner Former Celtic goalkeeper on BBC Sportsound Hearts couldn't take the big chances. Shankland, the man at the heart of that story, he needs to put the ball in the back of the net. That's what he gets paid to do. At the end of the day, when you're down at the bottom and struggling, when your striker gets these chances and he can't put them away, that is a problem. FT: Hearts 1-4 Celtic Martin O'Neill Former Celtic manager on Sky Sports We knew Celtic would create chances in the second half. It was a great performance. Eventually, Hearts looked like a side who are struggling. It was a real struggle for them second half. Hearts 1-4 Celtic Boos from the remaining home fans as Celtic hit Hearts with four goals to move three clear at the top. Hearts 1-4 Celtic Into the last minute at Tynecastle and the place is just about empty, apart from the pocket of Celtic fans at the far end. Hearts 1-4 Celtic Allan Preston Former Hearts defender on BBC Sportsound Brilliant penalty, right into the corner. Gordon goes the right way but can't get anything on it. It was emphatic. Adam Idah (pen) And it's four with 94 minutes on the clock. Smashed into the bottom-left corner. Hearts 1-3 Celtic Jorge Grant trips James Forrest in the box. Definite spot kick. Hearts 1-3 Celtic Pat Bonner Former Celtic goalkeeper on BBC Sportsound The first one was point blank, he's spread himself again. The second one, he gets up so quickly and uses his legs. A brilliant double save from Craig Gordon. Magnificent. Hearts 1-3 Celtic Craig Gordon, wow. Two stunning saves to deny winger Yang and Adam Idah on the rebound. Hearts 1-3 Celtic Haha, he eventually emerges then looks like he's forgotten something and heads back down the tunnel! The exact motion you would do if you left your keys somewhere. Amazing. Now he's back. Hooray. Play on. Hearts 1-3 Celtic We're still waiting on the fourth official to get his kit on and get out. There are only a few minutes left, just let a fan do it for a laugh. Hearts 1-3 Celtic Allan Preston Former Hearts defender on BBC Sportsound Right, abandon the game. A point each! Hearts 1-3 Celtic Seems one of the linesmen is injured and will need to be replaced by the fourth official. It's been a strange day, it really has. Hearts 1-3 Celtic Celtic progress the ball from keeper to attack and the move ends with Paulo Bernardo looping one just over. Hearts 1-3 Celtic Allan Preston Former Hearts defender on BBC Sportsound It's a brilliant hit, it really is. He drives forward, gets it on to his right foot and smashes it into the back of the net. He gives Schmeichel absolutely no chance. Wonderful finish. Too little, too late, I'm afraid. Musa Drammeh Only a consolation, surely, but goal of the night. Only just on, Musa Drammeh drives forward and unleashes a beauty of a finish from more than 20 yards out. Hearts 0-3 Celtic Couple of Hearts changes amid the Celtic celebrations as Yan Dhanda and Musa Drammeh replace Cammy Devlin and Blair Spittal. Hearts 0-3 Celtic Pat Bonner Former Celtic goalkeeper on BBC Sportsound That's the difference. Celtic are clinical when they get the opportunities. Adam Idah is not going to pass there. He's a striker and he wants to put the ball in the back of the net. Nicolas Kuhn's strike was the pick of the goals Clinical Celtic moved three points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership with what eventually proved a straightforward win over Hearts at Tynecastle. After Aberdeen's first league loss of the season earlier on Saturday, Brendan Rodgers' side knew they could put daylight between themselves and the Dons for the first time this term with victory in the capital. However, they started slowly and were fortunate to go in at half-time on level terms after Blair Spittal and Lawrence Shankland spurned golden chances to give Hearts the lead. It was a different story after the break though and Kyogo Furuhashi's seventh goal of the season put Celtic in front at the second attempt after Craig Gordon initially saved when Daniel Oyegoke's clearance deflected into the Japanese striker's path. A wonderful break and finish from Nicholas Kuhn doubled Celtic's advantage five minutes later and the result was never in doubt from that point onwards. Adam Idah added a third after some tidy passing on the edge of the Hearts box despite the best efforts of goalkeeper Gordon. Neil Critchley's side continued to show impressive industry, and were rewarded for their efforts when substitute Musa Drammeh grabbed a late consolation, beating Kasper Schmeichel from long range with a powerful drive. Idah then made it four from the penalty spot in time added on after James Forrest was tripped by Jorge Grant, to cap an excellent second-half showing from his side. Celtic have won both of their last two league meetings with Heart of Midlothian without conceding. They last both won and kept a clean sheet three times in a row against Hearts in the Scottish Premiership in May 2017 during Brendan Rodgers’ first spell in charge. Only Celtic (177) have recorded more pressed sequences in the Scottish Premiership this season than Heart of Midlothian (162). Celtic have won all six of their away league games this season by an aggregate score of 18-1. Only in 1957-58 (10), 1971-72 (9) and 2017-18 (7) have the Hoops ever won their opening seven away matches of a league campaign. Celtic’s Nicolas Kühn has been directly involved in 21 shots following a ball carry (10 shots, 11 chances created) in the Scottish Premiership this season, the most of any player. Indeed, his total carry distance of 2, 087 metres is the most of any non-defender in the competition this term. © 2024 BBC. The BBC is not responsible for the content of external sites.
