Crystal Palace owner Steve Parish admitted he would love to have Wilfried Zaha back at the club. However, he conceded that a deal is proving unlikely with Galatasaray with just two weeks of the transfer window to go. Zaha left Palace on a free transfer last summer to join the Turkish Super Lig club, where he finally got to play Champions League football. talk SPORT understands that the 31-year-old is desperate to return to the Premier League, but a deal is proving difficult. Leicester had been in talks too for the winger, but the cost of a loan move was too much. Speaking to talk SPORT’s Sunday Edition, Parish said: “I’d have Wilf Zaha back in a heartbeat. He's, you know, he's part of our club, part of our history as I've said countless times. “There's a few people that can lay claim to being at the heart of the resurgence of the club and Wilfried is certainly very much one of them. “We've stayed in the division sometimes by the force of his will, so of course we would. “Unfortunately it doesn't look like that's going to be possible this summer for various reasons. We continue to wish him all the best out there and I'm in contact with him every now and again. “I'm glad to see he had a good season last season. “He fulfilled his dreams. He played in the Champions League so it's a great story for him but of course if he was available we'd be interested. ” Zaha played 458 times for Palace across two different spells at the club, scoring 90 times. Also on the agenda for Parish was discussion surrounding Marc Guehi. The Eagles have turned down four transfer bids from Newcastle, with the most recent one totalling around £65million. Parish said: “Marc is a great player and we’re a club that have to accept that where we are right now we’re often not the destination. “We’re somewhere that you travel through and if we get the right bids for players we need to look at them. We haven’t got that at the moment. "If we get that then things may change, but right now Marc is a Palace player. I’m sure he’ll be on the team sheet today and we’re very happy to see him there. ” This service is provided on talk SPORT Ltd's Terms of Use in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
