The former Sporting Lisbon coach has had a mixed start to his stint in charge, suffering losses to Arsenal and Nottingham Forest before bagging a memorable win over rivals Man City on Sunday thanks to a last-minute comeback. United look set for an overhaul as Amorim aims to put his stamp on the club, with a host of comings and goings expected in the January transfer window and beyond.   Indeed, the likes of Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford seem to have fallen down the pecking order, having been dropped for the Manchester derby, with the latter suggesting in an interview with Henry Winter yesterday that it was a matter of 'when' not 'if' regarding his departure.    One of the positions in need of strengthening is left back but United have been hit with a setback after Italian star Federico Dimarco turned down their interest in favour of extending his contract with Inter, Football Italia reports.   Federico Dimarco has reportedly snubbed Manchester United in a blow to their rebuild hopes United might have beaten Man City 2-1 on Sunday but they have work to do in the window Ruben Amorim will be keen to make his mark on the squad and sign some reinforcements The 27-year-old has proved an attacking threat for the high-flying Serie A side, scoring three and assisting three in 14 league matches, as the club race to third in the table with a game in hand, and sixth in the Champions League group stage. The Red Devils had Di Marco towards the top of their list of full backs as they look for reinforcements with the likes of Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia suffering injury problems. Arsenal have also shown their interest with left-back a problem position for Mikel Arteta's Gunners.   But the Italian is remaining loyal to Inter after rising through the side's academy having supported the Champions League-winning club as a child.   He still has two and a half years on his contract but Inter chiefs are working to tie him down until 2028 or 2029.   United head coach Amorim made a bold call to leave both of his star wingers out of his matchday squad entirely for the trip to Manchester United.   In the end the Portuguese was vindicated as United produced a stunning comeback win in the final moments to defeat City 2-1 to make it eight defeats in 11 games for their local rivals. Amad Diallo won a penalty, which captain Bruno Fernades duly dispatched, before scoring a superb goal in the dying seconds to shock struggling City.   But Di Marco wants to remain a part of high-flying Inter who he supported as a child Marcus Rashford could be on his way out after being dropped for the derby last Sunday Summer signing Leny Yoro is seen as a star of the future and is unlikely to be sold United have been keen to avoid selling Alejandro Garnacho or Kobbie Mainoo although the Argentine was dropped for the first time on Sunday Rashford's future at Old Trafford looks up in the air with Mail Sport exclusively revealing last week that club chiefs would listen to offers of £40milllion for the forward in a bid to comply with Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR). This was exacerbated by his brutal snub for Sunday's huge match and subsequent disquiet around the United camp around a potential leaker of teamsheets, the perpetrator of which yet to have been found. Rashford all but confirmed his impending departure in his candid interview with Winter, conceding he wants a 'new challenge' and speaking about leaving as a 'when', not an 'if'.   Shifting homegrown players counts as 100 per cent profit on the PSR balance sheet, and for some time now the spotlight has fallen on the Englishman who has been at the club since the age of seven. It's understood the 27-year-old's asking price would have been as much as £100m when he scored 30 goals in Ten Hag's first season at United. But Rashford's loss of form and the contract he signed last year worth a prohibitive £325, 000-a-week means that his value has more than halved. Another option would be for the Red Devils to sell either of their two crown jewels -Kobbie Mainoo or Garnacho - but that is something the club have been wanting to avoid, although how the Argentine's snub on Sunday changes things remains to be seen. Leny Yoro, bought for £59m from Lille in the summer as a star of the future, is another seen as virtually untouchable at Old Trafford, as is Fernandes. Otherwise, United would entertain offers for most of their squad at the right price. 'The reality is that everyone is for sale, ' an insider said on last Wednesday night.
