UEFA Champions League All competitions All competitions All competitions Internazionale and Arsenal will meet for the fourth time in the UEFA Champions League – the Italians have won two of the previous three (L1), including one over a Mikel Arteta-led Gunners side in last season’s league phase (1-0 in November 2024). Arsenal’s last victory away to an Italian side in the UEFA Champions League was in March 2008 (2-0 v Milan). Since then, they have failed to win on five straight trips (D1 L4), while failing to score a single goal. Internazionale have lost two of their last three home matches against English sides (both versus Liverpool, 2022 and 2025), as many defeats as they suffered through their first 10 home games against English teams in the European Cup/UEFA Champions League combined (W5 D3 L2). If Arsenal win this game, they will set their longest ever winning streak in the European Cup/UEFA Champions League (7). The Gunners have won each of their last six by an aggregate score of 17-1, keeping five clean sheets. Internazionale won their first four games in the UEFA Champions League this term, but have since lost the last two (v Atlético Madrid and Liverpool). The Italian side last suffered three consecutive defeats in the competition between April and September 2011, while current manager Christian Chivu was an active player for Inter. Arsenal have a +16 goal difference in the UEFA Champions League this season (17 scored, 1 conceded). Only one English side has had at least such a differential through their first six matches in a single edition (since 1992-93): Jürgen Klopp’s Liverpool in 2017-18 (+17 – 23 goals, 6 conceded). Since the start of 2025, Internazionale’s Lautaro Martínez has scored the joint-most goals in UEFA Champions League home matches (8 – level with Serhou Guirassy). Indeed, he has netted as many goals in home games in this period as all other Inter players combined (8 goals, from 7 different players). Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli has scored in all five of his UEFA Champions League appearances this season (five goals). Should he play and find the net against Inter, he would record the longest ever scoring streak by a Brazilian player in the competition (6), surpassing five-game streaks by Neymar (on two occasions, 2015 and 2017) and Jardel in 1999. Since the start of last season, Arsenal’s David Raya has prevented the most goals of any goalkeeper in the UEFA Champions League (+7. 3), based on x G of shots on target faced (10 from 17. 3 x Go T). Meanwhile, since the start of the 2023-24 season, the top-ranked goalkeeper for goals prevented in this period is Internazionale’s Yann Sommer (+7. 9 – 23 conceded from 30. 9 x Go T). Martín Zubimendi has made more line-breaking passes (46) and defensive line-breaking passes (7) than any other Arsenal player in the UEFA Champions League this term, as well as leading the Gunners for possession won (22) in the current edition.
