Jake Paul delivered a warning to Lamine Yamal and Sergio Aguero as he announced his involvement in the Kings League. The American You Tuber-turned-boxer joined a star-studded live stream to unveil his newly-formed 'Miami 7s' team, which will be entering into the popular seven-a-side tournament. Set up alongside fellow US internet personality Adin Ross, Paul revealed their club will debut in the World Cup Clubs edition of the Kings League, which kicks off in Paris in June. In a special tournament preview hosted by founder and ex-Barcelona star Gerard Pique on the Kings League You Tube channel, Paul's involvement in the competition was revealed in a short promotional clip. Starting with the backdrop of Miami, the video then showcases the influencer's progression from You Tube into the boxing ring. As footage plays, Paul narrates: “In this city, dreams were born. In these streets, ambitions took shape. “From humble beginnings I dared to greatness. Every setback, every challenge, they became the foundation of my resilience. “From this home to the world stage, the journey doesn't stop. “Miami 7s, the next chapter. " Paul and Ross' outfit will be among 13 wildcard entries into the 32-team global edition of the small-sided league. Other competing teams include Manchester City icon Aguero's Kunisports, and Barcelona wonderkid Yamal's all-new La Capital CF, which was unveiled on the live stream. And Paul was quick to issue a warning to his rivals, as he and Ross dialled into the video broadcast to discuss their upcoming participation in the unique football format. With Yamal joining Pique in the studio whilst Aguero joined from home, appearing to be getting his haircut at the same time, the online superstar wasted no time in starting the trash talk. He said: “Miami 7 FC. We're on the takeover, we're coming for everyone! Lamine, the guy getting the haircut. ” His co-owner also made sure to deliver some early digs, as Ross told Aguero: "We've already played some football in real life. "I'm gonna make sure me and Jake, we’re gonna have to really try hard on you. We’re gonna have to spank you up out of here. " The five-time Premier League champion appeared unfazed by his rival's mind games, simply replying: "Impossible bro. " Paul and Ross' Miami 7s will be the first ever US-based team to feature in the Kings League when they debut in its World Cup Clubs edition. This instalment welcomes the champions from the Kings League competitions in Spain, Latin America, Italy, and France, in addition to two teams emerging from the upcoming Kings League Germany. But this isn't Paul's first ever involvement in the competition. In January, he made a surprise appearance at the conclusion of its World Cup Nations Final in Turin, Italy. The 28-year-old's cameo was a reflection of his continued growing stardom, with this coming after a record breaking audience of over 100 million watched him beat Mike Tyson in November 2024. The Kings League has boomed in popularity since it's inception by former Manchester United defender Pique in 2022. Its all-action format has proven favourable among younger viewers, which includes 20-minute halves, no draws and unlimited substitutions. Among the high-profile names to previously feature in the competition are former Chelsea star Eden Hazard and Brazil hero Neymar, the latter of whom is president of Brazilian side FURIA. © 2025 talk SPORT Limited
