The Edinburgh derby is almost upon us, so what are you doing here? We've got a busy Sunday coming up. All at three o'clock. Join us again as we keep across all the action. FT: Dundee United 1-1 Livingston Livingston manager David Martindale: "First half, we were very, very good. Second half, Dundee United they kind of pinned us in a wee bit. "We could've done a wee bit better on the counter. Overall, a point was probably fair for both teams. "We got a lot right in the first half. The weather probably made it difficult for Dundee United. The home team changing their shape is testament to us. " FT: Dundee United 1-1 Dundee United Dundee United manager Jim Goodwin tells BBC Sportsound: "The second 45, obviously was a lot better in terms of our all-round play, possession, getting into dangerous areas. Little bit guilty of wasting some good opportunities in terms of final ball when we get into those good areas. "The second half was a lot more what we were after from the start of the game. We started a little bit slow. It's another horrendous goal against. A really poor mistake, we just don't deal with the situation and find ourselves trailing and having to chase the game again. We were turning over possession far too cheaply. "We had 19 or 20 attempts on goal and just couldn't find the winner, unfortunately, when were on top. It's probably a better point for Livingston than for ourselves. It's another point on the board, but a major disappointment. " FT: Kilmarnock 2-0 St Mirren Kilmarnock boss Stuart Kettlewell also spoke about David Watson, scorer of the first goal. He told BBC Scotland: "He's a breath of fresh air to work with, he's quality. We talk about non-negotiables which is good body language, energy, application, desire to play the game - he's got that in spade loads. "I love watching him, working with him every single day. "He gives you a spike to your team, he drives people on with him, which is a terrific trait to have at such a young age. " FT: Kilmarnock 2-0 St Mirren Killie up to third. How many would have predicted that before the season got started? Fans seemed a bit underwhelmed by the appointment of Stuart Kettlewell but he's doing a smashing job. FT: Kilmarnock 2-0 St Mirren Kilmarnock manager Stuart Kettlewell tells BBC Scotland: "We were the better team. It was really difficult for both teams in the early part of the game to try and get a foot on the ball and have some sort of quality. "The first goal is the real catalyst for us to get going. We found a space when St Mirren jumped out, Bruce (Anderson) does really well and we keep seeing David Watson's energy, week after week, to get on the end of it. "The second is especially pleasing. We just managed the game really well, had the better chances in the second half and it could've been more. "If I'm honest, I wasn't expecting to stand here with as routine a victory as it was, because those teams are really close, but credit to the players. " A later Sportscene than usual to accommodate the Edinburgh derby, which will get going soon. You'll be able to watch all of the highlights from 20: 00 on BBC Scotland. FT: Dundee United 1-1 Livingston Scott Pittman has been at Livingston for 10 years now and scored his 54th goal for the club this afternoon. Only two players have netted more for the Lions. David Bingham and Iain Russell. FT: Dundee United 1-1 Livingston Jane Lewis BBC Sport Scotland at Tannadice On balance a draw is probably a fair result, although the home side carved out plenty of chances in the second half. United were poor in the opening 45 minutes though, while Livingston were full of intent. Those roles were reversed after the re-start. Dundee United made a couple of changes and grabbed an early goal which seemed to inspire them. Both managers may be frustrated at not taking full advantage when their teams were on top, instead they have to be content with a share of the spoils. FT: Kilmarnock 2-0 St Mirren Rory Loy Former Falkirk striker on BBC Sportsound Kilmarnock are the very epitome of being good in both boxes at the moment. Back-to-back clean sheets, they soaked up the pressure from St Mirren in the second half. Back-to-back 2-0 wins, Stuart Kettlewell must be delighted. FT: Dundee United 1-1 Livingston Billy Dodds Former Dundee United striker on BBC Radio Scotland Jim Goodwin will be a little frustrated because they're so close to getting that third place but they've dropped points again. Dundee United were okay, but could have been better. Scottish League Two Scottish League One Nothing much changes in the Championship with the top five failing to win. Airdrieonians are four points adrift at the bottom after that victory for Ross County. Scottish Championship It ends all square at Tannadice after an improved second-half performance from Dundee United. Krisztian Keresztes' first goal in Tangerine levelled matters early in the second half and Jim Goodwin's side pressed hard at times for a winner. Livingston, who deservedly led at the break through Scott Pittman, had chances of their own but, in the end, a draw seems fair. Krisztian Keresztes (second from left) scored Dundee United's equaliser Kilmarnock make it two consecutive victories in the Premiership and rise to third place, where St Mirren had been. Goals from David Watson and Marcus Dackers stung the visitors in a game that struggled for quality chances amid blustery conditions. The hosts' win avenges their recent Premier Sports Cup quarter-final defeat on penalties at the same venue. St Mirren haven't won at Rugby Park since 2013 in the top flight and never looked like changing that sorry stat. Captain Conker (beponchoed) enjoys David Watson's goal Dundee United 1-1 Livingston Mahamadou Susoho's cross from the Livingston right clips the crossbar on its way out. Definitely a cross. And definitely a fright for the home fans. Kilmarnock 2-0 St Mirren Julie Fleeting Former Scotland striker on BBC Radio Scotland St Mirren have had plenty of possession but what they've been able to do with it has been disappointing. Kilmarnock could be five up with the number of chances they have had. It looks extremely likely they will get all three points at this stage. Their defence has been outstanding. One of those days for Buddies boss Stephen Robinson. .. Ronan Hale That should wrap up a first league win of the season for the Staggies. David Watson opened the scoring with his third league goal of the season At a glance Kilmarnock rise to third, before the Edinburgh derby result, with comfortable win First-half goals from Watson and Dackers seal second consecutive victory for Kettlewell's side St Mirren dominate possession but struggle to create clear-cut chances Kilmarnock made it two consecutive victories in the Scottish Premiership as they overcame St Mirren at Rugby Park to rise to third. Goals from David Watson and Marcus Dackers stung the visitors in a game that struggled for quality chances amid blustery conditions. The hosts' win avenges their recent Premier Sports Cup quarter-final defeat by St Mirren on penalties at the same venue. Despite having the wind against them, it was Kilmarnock who caught St Mirren cold on two occasions in the first half. The opening goal came from a simple midfield turnover which Greg Kiltie poked forward immediately. Bruce Anderson raced on to the ball and shot from a narrow angle, with Watson firing in the rebound after Shamal George's save. There was little the goalkeeper could do about the second. James Brown whipped an inviting cross in from the right and Dackers used every inch of his 6ft 7in frame to power a header into the top corner. At the end of the first half St Mirren appealed loudly for a penalty when Richard King nodded the ball on to Robbie Deas' elbow at the back post following a corner, but Nick Walsh was unmoved, as was the VAR official. It was only the hosts who had further glimpses of goal as St Mirren's rotten league run at Rugby Park continued - they have not won away to Kilmarnock in the top flight since 2013. To say Kilmarnock managed the conditions better would be an understatement. With the wind blowing behind St Mirren, it seemed the visitors would have the advantage in the first half. Instead, Kilmarnock capitalised on the unbelievably high line Stephen Robinson's men were playing, getting in behind twice to punish them fully. St Mirren were allowed to dominate possession, but they were repelled whenever danger lurked. That showed in the fact the Paisley side didn't have a single shot on target - the first time that has happened since October last year when they lost 4-0 to Hearts. If Stuart Kettlewell has any complaints, they might be that the scoreline was not even more comfortable. Dackers had a couple of chances in the second half, while Watson and Djenairo Daniels also squandered opportunities. But overall the Kilmarnock manager will be delighted with a victory built on defensive solidity. It says a lot for George Stanger's impressive start that Stuart Findlay's departure has not been more keenly felt. Kilmarnock manager Stuart Kettlewell: "We were the better team. It was really difficult for both teams in the early part of the game to try and get a foot on the ball and have some sort of quality. "If I'm honest, I wasn't expecting to stand here with as routine a victory as it was, because those teams are really close, but credit to the players. " St Mirren manager Stephen Robinson: "We were poor today, a shadow of ourselves. Everything we're good at, we didn't do. "We played without purpose. We had 63% possession and I'd imagine 60% of it was in our own half. We didn't create anything, open anyone up. You earn the right to play football and we didn't earn it today. "I made early changes, rightly or wrongly, to try and get a response. We didn't, so I'm as much to blame as the players. It's very rare they have an off day like that. " Both sides return to action on Saturday, 18 October after the international break as Kilmarnock host Hearts and St Mirren welcome Aberdeen (both 15: 00 BST). After their 5-1 win in March, St. Mirren are looking for successive top-flight victories over Kilmarnock for the first time since May 2012 under Danny Lennon. Kilmarnock are yet to win a home league game in three attempts this season (D2 L1); Stuart Kettlewell could, therefore, become the first manager to fail to win each of his first four home top-flight matches in charge of the club since Lee Mc Culloch didn’t win any of his first six from February to May 2017. St. Mirren have won both of their last two league games and could win three in a row for only the second time since the start of 2023, after doing so in December 2024. Since his debut for the club in August 2023, Mikaël Mandron has more goals (16) and more assists (7) than any other player for St. Mirren in the Scottish Premiership. Mandron has scored (1) or assisted (2) in three of his last four league games. Copyright © 2025 BBC. The BBC is not responsible for the content of external sites.
