Lewis Ferguson has signed a contract to 2028 with Bologna Scotland midfielder Lewis Ferguson has signed a new contract with Bologna, taking his deal with the Serie A club to 2028. There is also an option for a further year, but it is unclear whether the club or Ferguson holds the option to trigger that extension. The 25-year-old enjoyed an excellent campaign last season, scoring six times and providing five assists as Bologna qualified for the Champions League for the first time. Those performances earned him the Bulgarelli Number 8 Award for Serie A's best midfielder. However, a knee injury in April ended Ferguson's season early and denied him the chance to play for Scotland at Euro 2024. Prior to that he was linked with some of Italy's biggest clubs including Juventus, now lead by former Bologna manager Thiago Motta.
