At 20, Dom Ballard is the youngest player to score an EFL hat-trick for Leyton Orient since Josh Koroma, aged 18, in 2017 Dom Ballard hit a hat-trick as Leyton Orient crushed Doncaster. Orient got off to the ideal start as they went ahead after just a minute, Ballard picking off a loose ball from Connor O'Riordan, advancing on goal and slotting past Ian Lawlor. Aaron Connolly found space after 27 minutes after a one-two with Charlie Wellens and drilled his shot from outside the area into the bottom right corner. The hosts looked for a third and Connolly and Ballard came close before the latter killed the game off three minutes after the break by rounding Lawlor after a Killian Cahill goal-kick. Cahill turned a close-range Billy Sharp effort over the bar after 54 minutes, but Orient got a deserved fourth in the 72nd minute when Ballard converted a low Connolly cross to complete his hat-trick. The only sour note of the afternoon for the hosts was having Rarmani Edmonds-Green taken off on a stretcher. Match report supplied by PA Media.
