The Reds have endured a nightmare week at senior level following a 3-0 loss to Nottingham Forest and a 4-1 Champions League defeat by PSV Eindhoven in midweek. The results have led to mounting pressure on manager Arne Slot amid a run of nine defeats in 12 matches. Another heavy defeat came on Saturday, but this time for Liverpool's youth side in a home Under-18 Premier League fixture. Liverpool trailed after seven minutes with Bendito Mantato opening the scoring for Manchester United. Man United doubled their advantage on the stroke of half-time through JJ Gabriel, their highly rated 15-year-old talent. When wheeling away to celebrate, Gabriel was seen pointing back over his shoulder while heading towards the corner flag. The celebration was reminiscent of one regularly used by Alexander Isak during his time at Newcastle. Isak has only been able to use the celebration once as a Liverpool player, with a solitary strike in the Carabao Cup his only goal since his £125m British record move in the summer. While Man United led 2-0 at half-time, the Red Devils recorded a crushing victory after Liverpool endured a second half collapse. Gabriel added his second goal in the 66th minute, before goals from Louie Bradbury, Jim Thwaites and Sam Lusale. Man United's dominant victory was sealed in stoppage time when Gabriel completed his hat-trick. Liverpool suffered another heavy defeat at youth level, but this time at the hands of their rivals Gabriel has earned rave reviews at youth level for Manchester United over recent months The result saw Man United climb up to second in the table. Liverpool had been missing some players from the side that beat PSV 1-0 in the UEFA Youth League in midweek. Their Under-18s have endured some heavy defeats in recent weeks, including a 6-3 loss to Nottingham Forest, a 4-0 defeat by Real Madrid and a 5-3 defeat to Sunderland.
