Greenwood is enjoying a fresh start in France with Marseille, having joined the club from United in the summer after a year on loan in Spain with Getafe and he is now expected to add to his family again, according to The Sun. It was decided he would leave Old Trafford after he was arrested in January 2022 before being charged with attempted rape, assault and controlling and coercive behaviour, though charges were dropped. He revealed his first child, daughter Summer, had been born in July 2023 and the 23-year-old is not set to grow his family further next year. Greenwood is thought to be earning around £70, 000-a-week in Marseille after his England exile. 'He and Harriet are enjoying life out of the intense spotlight that comes with being a United player and is much more settled off the pitch, which means he can concentrate on his football. ' Charges against Greenwood were dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service following the 'withdrawal of key witnesses and new material coming to light'. Last month, Pablo Longoria, the Marseille president, claimed that it was manager Roberto De Zerbi's wish to sign Greenwood. The Italian relayed his desire to bring in the forward during his first conversation with the board after being appointed as their manager in June. Greenwood had been on the hunt for a new club after it was decided he would leave Manchester United, where he had spent years as an academy prospect bfore graduating to the first team. He made 129 appearances for United, scoring 35 goals before joining Marseille for £30million in the summer. The former England international had not played for Man United since January 2022 and spent last season on loan at Getafe, scoring 10 goals and registering six assists on his way to being named the club's player of the season. His potential move to France sparked a backlash from livid Marseille fans, who launched a #Greenwood Not Welcome campaign when he was initially linked with the club. When Greenwood moved to Marseille, he had not played for Man United since January 2022 and spent last season on loan at Getafe He is, however, thought to be enjoying his new life across the pond after his England exile Greenwood made 129 appearances for Manchester United but signed for Marseille in the summer via a loan move at Getafe Marseille's mayor Benoit Payan also opposed the move, saying he would lobby the club's president Pablo Longoria to call off the deal. Greenwood, however, received a warm reception from fans when he arrived for his medical on Wednesday. Fans greeted the forward with flares and chants of his name as he waved to them at the airport. His former club confirmed the news on Thursday, sharing a brief statement which wished their former academy graduate 'all the best in his future career'.
