The former Arsenal and Real Madrid star has been out of the game since he retired at the age of 34 back in March 2023. Ozil has since dedicated himself to the gym and has made seriously impressive gains over the last year. His rigorous gym workouts have even impressed the likes of former Madrid team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo, as he regularly posts videos and pictures on social media. In a recent social media post, his personal trainer, Alper Aksac, has posted a video which shows Ozil during skinnier times when he first started focusing on building up his body muscle to today where he possesses an unrecognisable frame compared to the peak of his playing career. ' Workouts have been clearly been focused on building muscle with Ozil showing off his impressive six pack, biceps, chest and shoulders in his body transformation video. His change has caught the attention of former team-mates who have commented on his previous posts. Former Arsenal team-mate Bacary Sagna has been among those to comment on his photos, as he joked: 'Finally getting like me. ' Ronaldo shared his support for his former Real Madrid team-mate, after Ozil had posted a clip of him using a set of battle ropes before pushing a weighted sled up and down the length of a gym. The 35-year-old, who played at Los Blancos with Ronaldo between 2010 and 2013, captioned the video: 'Always stay ready, then you don't need to get ready. ' He also added a 'sand timer' and a '100' emoji to the caption, sparking some speculation among fans that he could be considering a return to football. Ronaldo lauded his gruelling workout, with a winking emoji and writing: 'Bro not bad. ' Ozil has regularly posted videos and picture of his rigorous gym workouts on social media Ozil also played for the likes of Real Madrid, Schalke, Werder Bremen and Fenerbahce Ozil made over 250 appearances in all competitions for the Gunners during an eight-year spell at the club after joining from Real Madrid for £42. 5m in the summer of 2013. He scored 23 goals in 92 caps for Germany and was part of their squad that won the 2014 World Cup. After leaving Arsenal, he joined Fenerbahce before finishing off his career with a short spell at Istanbul Basaksehir.
