On Thursday, L'Equipe first revealed that the 28-year-old had agreed to join the Ligue 1 side and had travelled to the French city for a medical. The outlet adds that the forward is set to join Roberto de Zerbi's side on a loan deal with a mandatory purchase option at an estimated total of £3. 37million (€4m). Should the deal be ratified, he will sign a contract to stay at the club until 2028. But it appears Maupay is thrilled to be leaving Everton with the forward posting a video of Andy Dufresne from the film The Shawshank Redemption online, after Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano had announced his move on X (formerly Twitter).
