18/12/2024 - 13: 07 GMT Jake Davies Stephen Pond/Getty Images   Norwich City do not consider Brazilian defender Marlon to be an active target for the approaching January transfer window, according to the Pink Un.   The Canaries are expected to be in the market for fresh faces to back boss Johannes Hoff Thorup, when the window swings open for business.   Hoff Thorup is keen to make signings in January, but only with players who fit into the club’s mid and long term strategy.     They have been credited with wanting to sign left-back Marlon, who is currently on the books at Brazilian side Cruzeiro.   A possible £4m proposal has been mooted, but Norwich do not consider Marlon to be an active target for the January transfer window.     Marlon, 27, has a further two years left to run on his current deal at Cruzeiro, having penned a fresh contract only earlier this year.   The defender has played his football outside of Brazil previously, having one spell in Portugal at Boavista and stints in Turkey at Trabzonspor and Ankaragucu.     Norwich have done recent business in South America, but unless there is a change in thinking at Carrow Road, it does not appear Marlon will be joining the club next month.   Transfers Transfers Leeds United English Football Based in the United Kingdom and online since 2007, Inside Futbol provides football news, features and interviews.
