Omari Kellyman has represented England and Northern Ireland at youth level Cardiff City have signed Chelsea attacking midfielder Omari Kellyman on a season-long loan deal. The 19-year-old had corrective surgery on persistent hamstring issues in late March and was willing to drop to League One level to kick-start his career. Kellyman has been limited to just four appearances in the Under-21s since joining Chelsea in a £19m deal from Aston Villa in 2024. He has also yet to play a single minute of first-team football at Stamford Bridge. However, he felt League One leaders Cardiff will be a good platform. The Bluebirds, relegated from the Championship last season, are unbeaten under new head coach Brian Barry-Murphy, who is hoping to make at least two signings on transfer deadline day. Kellyman becomes Cardiff's third acquisition of the summer following the arrivals of goalkeeper Nathan Trott and defender Gabriel Osho. "I like to make things happen. I like to be forward thinking and get on the ball as much as possible. I want to come here, get some goals and assists and help the team, " Kellyman told the club's website. "I've been watching the recent games and it's been great to see the exciting players we already have. I'm looking forward to playing with the lads.
