Being serious, they have lost their first three home league games this season and, with Sunderland and Leeds both doing better than expected, they cannot afford to lose four on the trot, so they need something here. Brighton made the most of their numerical advantage against Chelsea last week, but it is hard to know what to expect from them off the back of that game where they were up against 10 men. I don't feel like I am doing very well with my Brighton predictions this season - in fact I've not got any of them right so far - so I am not too confident about calling this one. This is probably going to end up as a draw but I am still being brave so I have picked another winner. I should probably get an award for being so bold with my predictions, even when I'm wrong. Sutton's prediction: 1-2 Everton v Crystal Palace (14: 00 BST) Jordan Butler BBC Sport Tyler Dibling's first Everton start ends a run of 185 Premier League matches for David Moyes without naming a teenager in his starting XI. The last teen he named in a top-flight side was full-back Jeremy Ngakia for West Ham against Wolves in June 2020. Everton v Crystal Palace (14: 00 BST) Izzy Christiansen Former England midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live Again, similar fashion to Phil Foden, a player who is super talented. Jack Grealish gets fans off their feet when he is playing well. Grealish knows he will be in the wider England squad, and in Tuchel's eyeline. He must be in the equation. Newcastle v Nottingham Forest (14: 00 BST) Julien Laurens European football expert on BBC Radio 5 Live Nick Woltemade is not good in the air, he doesn't like it. He is a technical player, he is a baller with the ball at his feet. Once he has adapted to this Newcastle team we will see an even better Woltemade. Newcastle v Nottingham Forest (14: 00 BST) Ciaran Kelly BBC Sport reporter at St James' Park There is a huge 'Eddie Howe's black and white army' banner right at the back of the East Stand here at St James' Park. The Newcastle United head coach's name will inevitably be sung at various stages throughout the game. To say he is backed by Geordies is an understatement. It has been a little different for opposite number Ange Postecoglou, of course, who was subjected to chants of "You're getting sacked in the morning" from a section of Nottingham Forest fans on Thursday night. How Postecoglou needs to give those supporters up in the gods something to shout about this afternoon. Wolves v Brighton (14: 00 BST) Nick Mashiter BBC Sport football news reporter at Molineux Brighton have won on their last four league visits to Molineux, scoring 12 goals in the process. They have lost just once in the league in their last 11 games at Wolves - not the opposition the hosts would want as they search for their first Premier League win of the season. Everton v Crystal Palace (14: 00 BST) Neil Johnston BBC Sport at Hill Dickinson Stadium Everton's players look like blue ants from the press box at the hugely impressive Hill Dickinson Stadium. I swear Jack Grealish and Jordan Pickford are down there. Everton are yet to lose here after defeating Brighton and Mansfield (League Cup) and drawing with Aston Villa and West Ham. But their unbeaten home record is about to be severely tested. You have to go back to 16 April for the last time Crystal Palace lost a game. That's six months ago! Newcastle v Nottingham Forest (14: 00 BST) Darren Fletcher BBC Radio 5 Live present on the Premier League kick-off I've heard opposition fanbases sing to the opposition manager, "You're getting sacked in the morning", but I don't think I've ever been in a ground before when the home fans have sung that to their own manager. Certainly not this early into a career. Is his position virtually untenable six games in? Newcastle v Nottingham Forest (14: 00 BST) Nigel Reo-Coker Former Aston Villa midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live Premier League kick-off It is possible for Ange Postecoglou to turn it around, but he is already on thin ice. For me the problem is, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Replacing Nuno, who the fans loved for what he did. What Ange should do is continue the philosophy that Nuno instilled at the club. Be that team that loves counter-attacking football and then slowly work into the style of football you want to play. They are getting caught between two styles of play. Newcastle v Nottingham Forest (14: 00 BST) Ally Mc Coist Former Rangers striker on BBC Radio 5 Live Premier League kick-off The owner clearly loves the club, he also has a big ego to go with it, which is not a criticism. The one thing he will not want to do is prove himself wrong and sack him dead early. That's not to say he won't do it if he thinks it's right, but I don't think he'll want to do it because he'll want to be proved right. Get involved caption: Click 'Get Involved' at the top of this page to have your say As much as I would love Palace to be one of our title challengers (happy Gooner over here) you worry about their depth, especially if they go far in Europe. Mateta, Wharton, Guehi, Münoz are irreplaceable in the context of their current squad so rotation is not an option. Matt, Leeds Everton v Crystal Palace (14: 00 BST) Julien Laurens European football expert on BBC Radio 5 Live With France, Jean-Philippe Mateta always knew there was so much competition for places. For him to get his chance he had to be very good for Palace and he has had to wait for his time. Now that he has got the call he has to make it count. Everton v Crystal Palace (14: 00 BST) Clinton Morrison Former Premier League striker on BBC Radio 5 Live The French attacking forward players, they're a different kind of player to what Jean-Philippe Mateta is. He is a serious player and if you want to mix your game up he is ready for it. He has been first-class. He fully deserves his call-up. Everton v Crystal Palace (14: 00 BST) Izzy Christiansen Former England midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live I think Jordan Pickford is England's number one. The way he has performed in an England shirt has been outstanding in recent years. The way Dean Henderson is playing, he has a lot of personality about him. He is part of Palace's revolution and he is a big part of that. Everton v Crystal Palace (14: 00 BST) Neil Johnston BBC Sport at Hill Dickinson Stadium Jordan Pickford is making his 300th Premier League appearance for Everton. Fair to say he's come a long way since turning out for non-league Alfreton in 2013. It's England's No 1 keeper at one end of the pitch and England's No 2 keeper at the other. Dean Henderson actually leads Pickford 3-2 in terms of Premier League clean sheets this season. Does Henderson have any chance of dislodging long-serving Pickford as England's No 1 before next summer's World Cup? "Dean Henderson is having a fantastic season and he will at some point take the job. But there is no need for a conversation about that right now, " former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson told 5 Live's Premier League Kick-Off on Friday. Listen here. Get involved caption: Click 'Get Involved' at the top of this page to have your say Not Spurs or Forest fan. I can't help but feel for Ange. I think he could have been a good prem manager, but a bit naive when it came to the press. They are like a pack of wolves. Still, while around, most others are safe, apart from Amorim. Terry, Suffolk Aston Villa v Burnley (14: 00 BST) Aston Villa took a while to get going against Fulham but it was great movement by Ollie Watkins for his goal, and he needed that. That was their first league win of the season, but I am not convinced Unai Emery's side will kick on from there. They beat Feyenoord in the Europa League on Thursday and their squad is going to be stretched. The more I think about it, the more I quite fancy Burnley for a draw here. To lose 5-1 last week was harsh on them, and they had frustrated Manchester City for a long time, the same as they did when they were beaten by Liverpool, and that is likely to be their gameplan here too. My heart says Villa will win because of my time there - I almost reached double figures in appearances - but my head says Burnley, and this time, I am going to listen. Sutton's prediction: 1-1 Aston Villa v Burnley (14: 00 BST) Noel Sliney BBC Sport While promoted Burnley's place in the bottom three is no great surprise and can be mitigated by the fact their four defeats have all come against heavyweight opponents with vast resources, Aston Villa's slow start was not widely predicted. Data analysts Opta calculated that Villa had the easiest opening five fixtures in the division - yet their first win didn't come until the sixth attempt, at home to an obliging Fulham last Sunday. An improved performance in that game, sandwiched between Europa League victories against Bologna and Feyenoord, suggests Villa are starting to snap out of their torpor. Nonetheless, their attacking shortcomings are clear. Burnley copied Villa's club colours in 1910 and are mirroring the same issues as the Birmingham side on the pitch so far this season. These are the two sides with the lowest expected goals (x G) tallies in the Premier League this season. Burnley's x G, a measure of how many goals a team is expected to score based on the quality of their chances, is 4. 53. They have actually outperformed that, scoring six goals, but have had the joint fewest shots and shots on target in the division. Villa have underperformed their x G by near-enough one goal in the league. More tellingly, they have only had a single shot which had more than a 50% probability of ending in the back of the net. It is not just Villa's forwards to blame either - their strangely passive build-up play in many games means they take 63. 2 touches between shots on average, more than any other side. Newcastle v Nottingham Forest (14: 00 BST) Newcastle are bidding for just their second win of the season in the Premier League, following their 1-0 victory against Wolves last month. They have lost just two of their last six games in all competitions and manager Eddie Howe believes his side is getting into its stride. "I think we've got a few clicks to go, " he said. "But certainly I think we're finding our rhythm and our belief as a new team. " The Magpies recorded their biggest ever Champions League win with a 4-0 victory over Belgian champions Union Saint-Gilloise on Wednesday. It was also their first away triumph in the competition for 22 years. "Hopefully it helps us when we return to the Premier League because we've been waiting for a performance like that, " said Howe after the match. "It wasn't perfect – there are things we can improve – but it was a big step in the right direction. " Everton v Crystal Palace (14: 00 BST) This should be a good game, and a real test of whether Everton's new ground is actually the 'fortress' my 606 co-host Roman Kemp describes it as. Everton are still unbeaten there but they have drawn two out of three games so far and the handbrake is still on, isn't it? Maybe Roman's definition of a fortress is just different to most other people's. There will be no gung-ho tactics here, either, because this is going to be a really tight affair between two very clever managers. But after watching Palace last week I have to back them really. Oliver Glasner's side were quite direct against Liverpool and it will be a good battle if they do the same here. I enjoy watching Everton and, in particular, Jack Grealish, but I worry about their firepower up front. If they had a goalscorer I would probably say they would get something, but instead I am going with Palace to keep a clean sheet and to take home the points.
