It has been some return for the Premier League after the international break. Nottingham Forest's defeat by Chelsea at midday led to the swift dismissal of Ange Postecoglou as head coach after just 39 days in charge. We were then treated to an epic six goal thriller between Crystal Palace and Bournemouth. Erling Haaland continued his goalscoring spree with a brace to help Man City beat Everton at the Etihad. There were also impressive wins for Brighton, Burnley and Sunderland, while Wolves remain rock bottom after an eighth league match without a victory. We are bringing this live blog to an end here. Thanks for following along! The action keeps coming as Arsenal will look to reclaim top spot in the Premier League. Mikel Arteta's side have made the short trip across London to Craven Cottage to face Fulham. Kick off is just five minutes away. You can follow all the action via our live blog Struggling to remember many times a player has looked this disappointed after a hat-trick. Mbappe after the World Cup final and Bale against Inter Milan spring to mind. Mateta had his head in his hands and fell to the floor after missing the chance to net his fourth and win the match for Crystal Palace. 'I want to win every game, I had the ball to win this game, ' Mateta has just told the BBC. 'It's up to me to score that goal and I didn't score. That's why I'm unhappy. I need to cool down, now I am a little bit upset. " And breathe. A mad, mad match. Bournemouth will feel they should have won this having led 2-0 and 3-2. But Palace may feel the same as well, with Mateta missing in the dying seconds. The Frenchman seems disappointed despite his hat-trick. Danny Welbeck's brace has done the damage as Brighton keep up their impressive home record over Newcastle. It is setback for Newcastle, with Eddie Howe's side lying 12th after defeat. Burnley moved out of the bottom three by downing Leeds in a battle of the newly promoted sides. Keep an eye out for Loum Tchaouna's stunning goal which doubled the Clarets lead. Another fine win at the Stadium of Light for Sunderland, with the Black Cats moving up to seventh in the table. Wolves remain rooted to the bottom of the table and are still without a Premier League win this season. Another goalscoring display from Erling Haaland earns Man City victory. The result has actually moved Man City temporarily top of the table on goal difference ahead of Arsenal. Arsenal face Fulham in the late game. INCREDIBLE. Mateta has now missed a sitter to win it. The Palace forward has fired over the crossbar from eight yards out. What a chance. Mateta scores from the spot to complete his hat-trick and surely, surely see this crazy match end in a draw. The Frenchman, who scored on his France debut in midweek, sends Djordje Petrovic the wrong way from the spot. Goodness me, this match. Marc Guehi has gone down in the box and a penalty has been awarded. VAR have confirmed the decision. That's the three points for Sunderland! Ladislav Krejci has put through his own net with a miscued clearance and Wolves are staring at another defeat. While the late drama was happening elsewhere, Erling Haaland has been looking for his hat-trick. He has two efforts blocked, before Rayan Cherki fires off target. Surely Bournemouth have won it and are going top! A superb match looks to be going the way of the Cherries. Marcus Tavernier picks out substitute Ryan Christie, who fires Bournemouth back in front. Crystal Palace's second have fightback looks to be coming to nothing. And Brighton go back ahead! It is Welbeck again! All Newcastle now here. Strong finish. Howe’s changes have given them something extra. Brighton looking a little panicky at the back and the Toon Army in good voice. Brilliant from Nick Woltemade to bring Newcastle level at Brighton. It is a backheel from the forward into the corner. Woltemade has four in four for the Magpies, who have finally scored away from home his season in the Premier League. Have Crystal Palace completed the turnaround? Not yet. Eddie Nketiah has an effort ruled out for offside. Some finish brewing though at Selhurst. Jack Grealish is picked out by the cameras watching from the stands at the Etihad amid a break in play. The Everton loanee is watching on as his friend and former team-mate Erling Haaland looks to have downed his new side. An absolute stunner from Loum Tchaouna has put Burnley on route to three points. Tchaouna picks up the ball well outside the Leeds box, strides forward and lets fly from over 30 yards. The left footed shot flies straight into the top corner. Could be your goal of the month that. Can you believe it! Mateta has two in a matter of minutes and Palace have clawed themselves back level! Palace do have hope! Mateta had been stunned that his goal had been ruled out for offside. He was right to, VAR confirm he was onside and Palace have a goal back. Crystal Palace think they are back in it. Mateta has the ball in the back of the net but it has been ruled out for offside. VAR are checking it though. .. It didn't take long for Haaland to get another. Savinho lays the ball back for Haaland, who sweeps a left footed shot towards goal. Maybe not the best connection but Pickford appears unsighted by James Tarkowski and sees the ball too late and cannot stop Haaland doubling the host's lead. Pep Guardiola has decided to stick with the substitutions he had planned prior to Haaland's opener. Bernardo Silva and Oscar Bobb are on for Reijnders and Doku. Guess who? Everton's resistance is broken by that man Erling Haaland, who scores his 10th Premier League goal of the season. Haaland can thank some excellent work from Nico O'Reilly down the Man City left. O'Reilly clipped an inviting cross into the Everton box and Haaland rose on the penalty spot and powerfully headed beyond Pickford. Could there be a big twist at Selhurst Park. The referee is over at the monitor to see whether Senesi could be sent off for a professional foul. Jarred Gillett has taken his time before announcing his original decision of a yellow card stands. Boos from the home fans. .. Wolves should be level in the early stages of the half, with Joao Gomes dragging a shot wide of the target. Given the position Wolves are in, they really need those going in. Murphy and Miley on for Newcastle at HT. Elanga and Joelinton off… Joelinton had been a doubt pre-match after picking up an injury on international duty. We are back underway in the second half of all five of our matches. A quick look at the scores from across the Premier League at half-time. Brighton 1-0 Newcastle Burnley 1-0 Leeds Crystal Palace 0-2 Bournemouth Man City 0-0 Everton Sunderland 1-0 Wolves As it stands, Bournemouth are heading top of the Premier League, although Arsenal would be able to respond when they face Fulham in the late kick-off. Burnley are currently moving out of the bottom three, with the newly managerless Nottingham Forest dropping in. Wolves would be five points adrift of Burnley if the scores remain the same. A lot can change though, with kick off fast approaching in the second halves. Not a shot on target by Newcastle in the first half but a couple of good chances including one in the last second of the half with Woltemade heading over. Brighton one up at HT. One final Jordan Pickford save before half-time. Savinho cuts in from the right and fires a low effort towards the near post. Pickford gets down smartly to push the ball away. And there goes the whistle and it is goalless at half-time. The whistles have also gone across the grounds in our other 3pm matches. An important stop from Jordan Pickford as half-time approaches. He turns away an effort from Jeremy Doku to keep the match goalless. You feel David Moyes would be content to get to break all-square. Jack Harrison does really well to tee up Brenden Aaronson, who really should score. That's Leeds' best chance so far. Danny Welbeck clips the ball over Nick Pope to put Brighton ahead at the Amex. Welbeck was played through by Georginio Rutter. Bournemouth are in control at Selhurst Park and it is Kroupi again! The teenage slides the ball into the bottom corner to put the Cherries 2-0 up on the break. Are Palace facing back-to-back defeats are their long unbeaten run ended? Another big chance for Beto as Everton threaten again on the break. The Everton forward makes a good run forward but steers his right footed shot beyond the far past. The flag goes up against Beto, but he looked onside on the replay. I think that might well have stood if Beto had finished it. Nearly a breakthrough for Man City, but via an Everton player. Jake O'Brien has headed onto his own crossbar from a City corner. Nothing Jordan Pickford would have been able to do to stop that. Everton are soaking up pressure. Breakthrough for the Clarets at Turf Moor. As simple as that. Kyle Walker whips in a cross and Lesley Ugochukwu heads Burnley into the lead against Leeds. The Black Cats are ahead now! Look away Sam Johnstone. The Wolves goalkeeper allows a shot from Nordi Mukiele to go through his legs and bobble into the net. Mukiele's effort came at the end of a fine move, with the defender finishing off following a smart one-two. Work for Wolves to do now. A real chance for Everton at the Etihad, think Gazza against Germany at Euro 96. Everton latch onto a careless pass out of the Man City defence and spring forward. The ball is crossed for Beto at the back post, but the forward stretches and just can't make contact. Man City have had chances though with a low effort going past Jordan Pickford's post, while the Toffees goalkeeper has just comfortably saved at his near post. The Black Cats thought they had taken the lead at the Stadium of Light. Wilson Isidor had the ball in the back of the net, but it was ruled out for offside. An early warning for Wolves. Kroupi has a goal on his first Premier League start! The Bournemouth front man converts at the back post after a corner was flicked on. The Cherries are going top of the table as it stands. A long way to goal though. A slow start to proceedings at the Etihad. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall went down with a knock for Everton and shortly after play resumed there was another delay as Tijjani Reijnders suffered a head knock. Fair few boos around the ground as the Leeds and Burnley players take the knee at Turf Moor. We are underway at the Etihad. Whistles sounding across the other four Premier League clashes as well. This weekend's matches are part of the top flight's 'No Room For Racism' campaign, which has seen players take the knee at games. A decent cheer for Marc Guehi here at Selhurst Park as the names are read out. Nothing but appreciation from the home fans, it seems. Postecoglou 's sacking comes just 39 days after his appointment and leaves Nottingham Forest looking at having a third manager of the season before the end of October. You can read more on the developing news below, as we turn our attentions to the 3pm kick offs which are fast approaching. Big breaking news just in. Ange Postecoglou has been sacked as Nottingham Forest manager after their 3-0 defeat to Chelsea in the lunchtime kick-off. The axe fell just 19 minutes after the final whistle. Nottingham Forest's statement is as follows: It will be interesting to see how Everton go without Jack Grealish in their line-up today. The on-loan winger has scored once and provided four assists in the early weeks of his spell with the Toffees. Grealish's contribution at Man City has not been forgotten by home fans either and merchandise sellers either. Man City scarves with Grealish's name and image are on sale outside the Etihad. If anything, it is a good attempt to clear any remaining stock if Grealish's long-term future is away from Man City. A key task for Everton today will be keeping Erling Haaland quiet, if that's possible at the moment. Haaland has scored 12 goals in nine appearances for Man City so far this season - with only Tottenham preventing him from scoring. His hot streak continued on international duty with a hat-trick for Norway against Israel during the World Cup qualifiers. Our friends at Squawka have provided an excellent stat that if Haaland scores today, it will be the third time a player has reached double digits in the Premier League after eight gameweeks. The other two times this happened, Haaland was also responsible. Sunderland will be aiming to maintain their strong start to the campaign against bottom side Wolves. Chris Rigg and Dan Ballard return to the Black Cats starting line-up as part of two changes. The same number of changes for Wolves too, with Matt Doherty and Rodrigo Gomes starting at the Stadium of Light as Vítor Pereira's side target their first league win of the campaign. Sticking with Crystal Palace for a moment. Palace fans are going to be forced to confront the departure of captain Marc Guehi, with Glasner confirming the defender will not remain at the club beyond the end of his contract. Guehi had seen a move to Liverpool collapse on transfer deadline day. READ MORE Crystal Palace saw their long unbeaten run come to an end before the international break, but Oliver Glasner has kept faith with the same side who started that defeat by Everton. Teenage forward Eli Kroupi makes his first Premier League start for Bournemouth. He comes into the line-up in place of Evanilson. Alex Jimenez and Justin Kluivert also start. Bournemouth can go top for a few hours at least if they win at Selhurst Park. Zian Flemming, Lesley Ugochukwu and Jacob Bruun Larsen come into Burnley's starting line-up as Scott Parker's side welcome Leeds to Turf Moor. As for Leeds, just the one change with Noah Okafor missing out through injury. Jack Harrison is in from the start. Brighton are protecting a record of having never lost to Newcastle at the Amex in the Premier League. One change for the Seagulls from their last match, with Georginio Rutter coming in for the injured Brajan Gruda. Newcastle are unchanged from their win over Nottingham Forest before the international break. Joe Willock has made it out of the maze - a bizarre international break fake news story - and is on the bench. .. Pep Guardiola has made three changes to the side that beat Brentford ahead of the international break. Nathan Ake, Nico Gonzalez and Jeremy Doku start in place of Josko Gvardiol, Oscar Bobb and Rodri, with the latter not fit for selection. Everton are crucially missing Jack Grealish, who is unable to face his parent club. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Charly Alcaraz and Beto come into the starting line-up for the Toffees. The end of the international break has been followed by a bumper Saturday of Premier League action. Nottingham Forest and Chelsea opened the action at midday, but our focus will be on the 3pm action. There are five 3pm kick-offs to bring you with Manchester City’s clash with Everton at the Etihad arguably the pick of the fixtures. Stay tuned as well for updates from Newcastle’s trip to Brighton, Burnley vs Leeds, Sunderland vs Wolves and the match between two high-flying sides, Crystal Palace and Bournemouth. Daily Mail Sport will be across all the action. Why are the morons still kneeling in honour of a b. ..
