FT: Preston 3-2 Sheff Utd Sheffield United Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder speaking to Sky Sports: "At both ends of the pitch we had enough opportunities. I thought in the first five minutes we made some really poor decisions, they started the game on the front foot but after that our play was really good. "I thought we got the press right, we forced them into situations and traps, broke it up and scored two good goals, we should have been three or four up at half-time. "I'm not a manager that says every opportunity we score but we had enough chances and then the decision making and the feel of the game is completely different at half-time if we make better decisions. The goal gave them a huge lift. "We spoke about what we'd expect in the first 10 or 15 minutes of the second half and we commit a silly foul to allow them to put the ball in our box. Bit unfortunate with the own goal and all of a sudden they're back in the game at 2-2. "For their third goal I've got my centre-half out injured, he's trying to get back into the goal to defend and they find a great cross. A different change of attitude and we're on the back foot and then still we had three or four great opportunities to get something from the game. "Naivety from our play has hurt us. I know Paul [Heckingbottom] will possibly see it a different way from me but the result was basically there for us to cap off a fabulous week and we've sort of handed the game back to them in terms of our actions and what we did. FT: Preston 3-2 Sheff Utd Preston North End Preston North End manager Paul Heckingbottom speaking to Sky Sports: "It's a really good win, the main thing for us is we kept our head. We started brilliantly then we had a 10 or 15 minute spell when we totally went off the rails and that was the message at half-time. "We're really disappointed with the goals we've given away but really proud of the players once again. It's just ironic, that's probably our worst performance of the three we've had and it's the one game we've won. " On winning goalscorer Daniel Jebbison: "He did well in midweek as well, he's been doing well for us. We're really pleased with him, we're pushing him and he's responding which is great plus the way we like to play gives us that threat in behind. I'm delighted he got the winner, he's a popular member of the squad and it was probably deserved for his all-round game. " FT: Preston 3-2 Sheff Utd Preston North End Preston match winner and former Blades striker Daniel Jebbison told Sky Sports: "We came in at half-time and our gaffer expects a lot from us, we had to turn it around and get together. "It was brilliant from the boys, a great reaction, I'm happy to score a goal and get an assist, I can't complain. "It's a huge confidence boost for all of us, we have to build momentum after the win and crack on now. " FT: Preston 3-2 Sheff Utd Preston North End Preston skipper and former Blade Ben Whiteman told Sky Sports: "The first half definitely wasn't us. We were a different team in the second half. "Dan Jebbison has all the ability in the world, that's why he's at a Premier League club (Bournemouth) - he probably just needs a run of games, he's a brilliant lad and we're happy to have him. " Use button at top of page or #bbcefl Incredibly proud of the lads tonight. I can see why Utd still rate Hecky so highly. He's making us look like we’ve spent parachute payment sums on this squad. Ste, Preston FT: Preston 3-2 Sheff Utd Steve Eyre Former Manchester City coach on BBC Radio Lancashire Definitely a case of all's well that ends well. Sheffield United were playing around Preston to start with but a goal before half-time builds you with so much more energy because you think you can score next. FT: Preston 3-2 Sheff Utd Confirmation then that Preston are back into the top six, albeit they may only be there for 24 hours depending on Saturday's results. Sheffield United, meanwhile, could finish the weekend back in the drop zone if results involving Norwich or Blackburn go against them. Preston 3-2 Sheff Utd If you see a better game this weekend you're in for a treat. .. After a bright start from Preston, two very preventable goals in six minutes from Andre Brooks and Callum O'Hare had Sheffield United cruising into half-time. However, Lewis Dobbin curled home deep into added time at the end of the first half and within 60 seconds of the interval Japhet Tanganga's unfortunate own goal made it all-square. Former Blades striker Daniel Jebbison then powered home a header to complete a 14-minute turnaround and send Deepdale wild, while both sides spurned late chances to add to the scoring. An absolute humdinger of a start to the EFL weekend but it's yet another defeat for Chris Wilder and a ninth in 12 games for United, who stay 21st while Preston are back up to fifth after bouncing back from consecutive defeats. Preston 3-2 Sheff Utd Danny Ings takes it instead and blazes it hiiiigh over the bar. Not even close. That will be that. Grandstand finish loading. .. Preston 3-2 Sheff Utd Harrison Armstrong goes into the book for a lunge on Ben Mee as Blades try to break - they wanted the advantage, but play is brought back, much to Chris Wilder's frustration. Daniel Jebbison's 58th-minute header put Preston in front after they had trailed 2-0 early on to Sheffield United Daniel Jebbison completed a dramatic Preston comeback by scoring the winning goal against his former club Sheffield United in an enthralling Championship contest. The on-loan Bournemouth striker headed powerfully past goalkeeper Michael Cooper to move the Lilywhites back into the top six, and end the Blades' two-match winning streak. Things had looked very different in the first half as goals from Andre Brooks and Callum O'Hare put Chris Wilder's side 2-0 up and seemingly in charge. That changed in first half stoppage time when Lewis Dobbin pulled one back, and shortly after the restart Japhet Tanganga put through his own net, before Jebbison completed the turnaround. Preston had been cursing their luck, and the officials, after losing twice in a week to West Bromwich Albion and Birmingham City, but they only had their own defence to blame after a bright start dissolved in the Lancashire rain. In the Blades' first real attack, Tyrese Campbell turned and sent Brooks clear and he finished calmly past Daniel Iversen for his first goal of the season. Six minutes later the visiting fans were crowing about "the gap" to neighbours Sheffield Wednesday, docked 12 points earlier in the day for going into administration, as O'Hare showed great feet to latch on to another Campbell pass, go round Harrison Armstrong and find the bottom corner for 2-0. There looked to be no way back as Preston struggled to find any rhythm, and they lost Lewis Gibson to a muscle injury. That changed deep in first-half added time as Armstrong and Jebbison linked on the edge of the Blades box, the latter laying the ball for Dobbin, who switched it onto his right foot and curled it into the corner beyond Cooper. Within 54 seconds of the restart it was all level as a free-kick was swung from deep into the box. Jordan Storey's header was straight to Tanganga but the United skipper, in trying to take it on his thigh, kneed it over the flailing Cooper. Deepdale was suddenly in uproar, Preston were buzzing and Wilder's team, fresh from wins over Watford and Blackburn Rovers, were stunned. Jebbison fired one good chance over the bar but when Andrija Vukcevic sprinted past Tanganga, hit the byline and crossed it perfectly, Jebbison's header had too much pace for Cooper's hand to keep out. It was a sweet moment, both for Jebbison, who made just 35 appearances over four seasons for the Blades, and for his manager Paul Heckingbottom, who was sacked to make way for Wilder's second spell in charge after taking them to the Premier League three seasons ago. Alfie Devine twice went close to making the result safe, but the away team rallied and in a frantic finish Djibril Soumare and Harrison Burrows both missed golden chances for a leveller, while former Wednesday man Michael Smith missed a sitter at the other end.
