The big man ran out of the tunnel and into the Annan half, as well. Dear me. Duncan Nicolson is the man in the middle. Rangers v Annan Athletic (19: 45) Let's be frank - Annan are up against it here. They've not played since 27 December, after last weekend's game against Elgin City fell foul of the weather. However, their record in the festive season wasn't bad. They only lost once that month - to League One leaders Stenhousemuir in the Challenge Cup - winning two and drawing two. One of those draws came against League Two leaders Spartans, while they beat high-flying East Kilbride 3-1. So there is something to hang your hat on, if you're backing an upset. Player-manager Wullie Gibson walks out of the Ibrox tunnel Rangers v Annan Athletic (19: 45) Yes, they have. Denmark international Andreas Skov Olsen is their third signing of the window, on loan until the end of the season from Bundesliga side Wolfsburg. And there's an option to buy as well, for good measure. He's been capped 40 times by his country, and has enjoyed spells at Nordsjælland, Bologna, Club Brugge and Wolfsburg. The 26-year-old only joined the German side last January, but this is considered a major coup, make no mistake. Rangers v Annan Athletic (19: 45) Well now! Toko Chukwuani has been unveiled to crowd. And now, here's Tuur Rommens. But wait. What's this? That's Andreas Skov Olsen's music! Have Rangers just announced another signing? Rangers v Annan Athletic (19: 45) Annan Athletic player-manager Willie Gibson tells BBC Scotland: "These games don't come around too often, especially the level we play at. When they do come around, you've got to make the most of it. "You've got to enjoy the build up, the media attention. Tonight, it's just focusing on going and doing a job. "The message is to enjoy it, don't let the occasion overwhelm you. I've got boys with experience of playing at Ibrox, and hopefully they can rub on the younger ones that haven't. "The main message is work hard. The performances have been good of late, can we put on a performance against one of the best teams in the country? " Rangers v Annan Athletic (19: 45) Ryan Stevenson Former Hearts forward on BBC Sportsound If you're one of the players coming in, you'll be raging you've not been given an opportunity until know. But you'll also know it's an opportunity to show what you can do, and that you should be playing. They're on a hiding to nothing. If they play really well, everyone goes away thinking they should play well because it's Rangers v Annan. If you don't play well, you can't go anywhere near the manager's door for a long time. Rangers v Annan Athletic (19: 45) Derek Ferguson Former Rangers midfielder on BBC Sportsound I thought there'd maybe be three or four changes, so I'm really surprised. Rangers have been excellent since Danny Rohl came in, a rich vein of form, and you want to keep that going. Dowell and Rothwell have come in from absolutely nowhere. I thought they were making a bid to get back down to England, there has been speculation. I thought maybe some of the youth guys would come in. I'm taken aback by the nine changes. Rangers v Annan Athletic (19: 45) Rangers are the form team in the Premiership. Danny Rohl has restored some calm to choppy waters, and there aren't the same nerves about this one as there were when Queen's Park visited last February. Mind you, no one actually expected the Spiders to shock Rangers that day. Fresh from beating Ross County 4-0, then-manager Philippe Clement gave first starts to Bailey Rice and Emmanuel Fernandez, but it was still a strong team. At half-time, it still looked like Rangers would cruise through. Dominating the ball, they had done everything but put the ball in the back of the net. Then Seb Drozd scored with 20 minutes to go, and James Tavernier missed a penalty to equalise. Cue meltdown. One of the biggest shocks in the competition's history, and Clement soon departed. Queen's Park players celebrate after James Tavernier's penalty miss Rangers v Annan Athletic (19: 45) Rangers head coach Danny Rohl tells BBC Scotland: "A cup game is always special, but we have to be very serious. We have big respect for Annan but we want to be in the front foot. "We have some rotations in the squad, this is crucial to give players opportunities. You need a full squad, and tonight players can show how they can help us. For other players, it's load management. "The plan is that Toki [Chukwuani] comes on in the second half. It's important to settle him down but also give him a taste of this stadium. He is calm on the ball, brings us physicality, and he is ready to play for us. "Crystal Palace, Real Madrid, they've lost cup games like this. We have to take it seriously and if we do our job, do things right, it's clear who should win tonight. " Rangers v Annan Athletic (19: 45) Former Ayr United goalkeeper Charlie Albinson makes his Annan Athletic debut. They're not all like this, Charlie. Annan skipper Tommy Muir comes in, alongside former Scottish Cup winner Keith Watson - the 36-year-old won with Dundee United in 2010. Wullie Gibson, the player-manager, is another recognisable name, as is Paul Mc Gowan, the former Celtic and Dundee man, who is on the bench. Keith Watson (left) celebrates United's 2010 Cup win with coach Paul Hegarty Rangers v Annan Athletic (19: 45) There are nine changes to Rangers' starting line-up and new midfield signing Tochi Chukwuani is on the bench. In goal, captain for the night Liam Kelly replaces Jack Butland while Max Aarons, the returning Naser Djiga and Clinton Nsiala in defence. In midfield, Joe Rothwell makes his first appearance since late October while Kieran Dowell gets a first runout since mid-August. Danilo also comes in. Up front, Findlay Curtis and Bojan Miovski join Djeidi Gassama in the front three. Butland and regular skipper James Tavernier sit this one out along with Emmanuel Fernandez and Nico Raskin while Thelo Aasgaard, Youssef Chermiti, Mohamed Diomande, Mikey Moore and John Souttar drop to the bench. Tochi Chukwuani played against Rangers for Sturm Graz in October Rangers v Annan Athletic (19: 45) Rangers: Kelly, Aarons, Djiga, Nsiala, Meghoma, Rothwell, Danilo, Dowell, Curtis, Miovski, Gassama. Substitutes: Wright, Souttar, Chukwuani, Diomande, Aasgaard, Lawson, Moore, Matondo, Chermiti. Rangers v Annan Athletic (19: 45) Hello and welcome as the Scottish Cup fourth round gets under way. We've got a couple of David v Goliath ties this weekend, and this one certainly falls into that category. There are 35 places separating Rangers and Annan Athletic in the SPFL right now, as third in the Premiership hosts seventh in League Two. Will it be straight-forward for Danny Rohl's side, or will there be an historic upset at Ibrox? This video can not be played Highlights: Rangers v Annan Athletic At a glance Miovski hat-trick helps Rangers to five-goal cup win over Annan Dowell & Aasgard also on target Chukwuani & Lawson make Rangers debuts as substitutes Bojan Miovski scored a hat-trick as a fringe Rangers side breezed past Annan Athletic in the Scottish Cup at Ibrox. Rangers led when Miovski swept past debutant Charlie Albinson following Danilo's pass and Kieran Dowell and Findlay Curtis, who were two of nine changes for the hosts, combined to set up Miovski's headed second. Joe Rothwell, who like Curtis and Dowell has been linked with a January move, chipped for Dowell to nod his first goal of the season. Miovski converted a penalty and Thelo Aasgaard's stunning free-kick made it five on a night when home supporters were introduced to January captures Tochi Chukwuani, Tuur Rommens and Andreas Skov Olsen prior to kick-off. The midfielder's dead ball strike sailed past Charlie Albinson from around 30 yards in what was a sumptuous effort from the substitute. It had actually been the League 2 visitors that asked the early questions with Tommy Muir attempting to catch Rangers' stand-in captain Liam Kelly off guard with a dipping volley over the bar. However, after the Miovski first-half double, Curtis lobbed on to the crossbar and Miovski was denied by Albinson's save at close range. Jayden Meghoma, set to compete with Rommens for the left-back role, did superbly to set up Danilo for a curling shot off target and Curtis came close again before 17-year-old attacker Zebedee Lawson debuted off Rangers' bench, soon followed by midfielder Chukwuani. Aasgaard and Rabbi Matondo also appeared from the side and Aasgaard's fiercely struck free-kick was headed just wide by Matondo, who was later fouled by Scott Hooper for the Miovski spot-kick. Hooper almost got one back with what would have been a memorable strike, the ball flashing into the side netting. Sportsound: Reaction as Rangers cruise by Annan into Scottish Cup fifth round 16/01/2025 2230 Next to Miovski, right winger Curtis was the most impressive attacker in Rangers' makeshift side. An assist and two near misses showed just what the 19-year-old can offer. Kilmarnock have been linked with Curtis, with new Rugby Park manager Neil Mc Cann having worked with him at Ibrox last season. The arrival of Olsen and return of Matondo stiffens the competition Curtis is already up against should he remain in Glasgow, with Djeidi Gassama starting on the left against Annan. And head coach Danny Rohl has hinted Olsen has been earmarked for the right-hand berth. This video can not be played Rohl 'excited' to parade three new Rangers signings Rangers head coach Danny Rohl: "Yeah, 5-0 is a good result. The first couple of minutes, we needed a little bit of time. We rotated the players, they were not so connected but through the game we would be better and better. "It was an opportunity to get some players minutes. It was good to see today a debut from the academy player. Tochi got some first minutes. This is good to see. Bojan scored three times. This is fantastic. At the end, Thelo makes the fantastic fee-kick. It was a good finish in this game. " Annan Athletic player-manager Wullie Gibson: "A lot of positives, although we come away on a 5-0 defeat. We know it's sore but we knew the quality we were up against. I was really proud of the way we played. We did create chances. "They're good players, they know how to move the ball that quickly and get into the areas that hurt you. The fifth goal just tops it off, it shows you the quality that's in the side.
