Blackburn Rovers brought Argyle back down to earth when they arrived at Ewood Park on Saturday. The relegation strugglers were looking to build on a three-game unbeaten run, which included an unprecedented win over Liverpool in the FA Cup fourth round last week. Forshaw's goal was his first for Rovers since joining in January; it opened the scoring in the affair before Tyrhys Dolan doubled the hosts' lead to secure a 2-0 win. After finding the back of the net with a looping half-volley, Forshaw wheeled off in celebration and raised his arms out in a Jude Bellingham-esque manner. The Austrian boss explained that the hatchet was buried immediately, and that the incident was purely a misunderstanding.   'I have nothing but respect for Forshaw because he explained that behind us was his family, his sons, ' Muslic said. 'I respect that and if I had scored that beautiful goal, I would go to my family celebrating. He is a top professional and there is nothing but respect. 'He told me this and for me, the story was done in a millisecond. We hugged each other and moved on. ' The goal was Forshaw's first in nearly nine years as a professional. Blackburn caretaker manager David Lowe hailed the 33-year-old's 'fantastic' effort, and revealed that Rovers' new signing has been a positive influence on their dressing room. 'He was saying he hasn't scored many goals over the years but in fairness to him today he managed to get into the penalty area and it was a fantastic finish, ' Lowe said. Argyle boss Miron Muslic revealed that the incident was a misunderstanding, and that Forshaw was celebrating in front of his family, who were seated in the stand behind the bench 'I'm pleased for him because he's a terrific pro and has been really good since he's been at the club, setting good habits for the young players. Forshaw joined Argyle as a free agent in January 2024 after having his contract with Norwich terminated. He made 30 appearances for them before leaving to join Blackburn on January 11 2025.
