All the news from around Scotland Scottish transfer window closes at 2300 BST. However deals can still be processed until midnight Rangers announce signing of Youssef Chermiti from Everton as Cyriel Dessers departs for Panathinaikos Adam Idah leaves Celtic for Swansea City for a reported fee of around £6m Striker Kevin Nisbet is going back to Aberdeen Scotland striker Dykes wants to join Hibs Get in touch with the Get Involved button at the top of the page Nick Mc Pheat & Jack Herrall I'm a Celtic man but I'm surprised Rangers let Dessers go. Miovski isn't any better than him, no way. Carter-Vickers pocketed him yesterday as well. Steven I’m not a Rangers fan, but Dessers returned 20-plus goals every season in a team generally accepted as poor. What more did they want? Baffling. Stan Brian Mc Lauchlin BBC Sport Scotland Livingston have confirmed they are done and dusted for this transfer window. Are the Lions fans pleased with their new recruits and the business concluded? Get voting with those thumbs. .. For a guy who took *a lot* of stick, 52 goals and 17 assists in 116 games ain't too bad for Cyriel Dessers at Rangers. Maybe fans will reflect on his time at the club more fondly in years to come. He probably deserves that. In fact, he does deserve that. Cyriel Dessers has left Rangers and signed for Panathinaikos for an undisclosed fee. The Nigerian forward joined the Ibrox side in 2023 from US Cremonese on a four-year deal and leaves the club after scoring 52 goals. "Everyone at the club thanks Cyriel for his contribution during his time in Glasgow, and we wish him well for the future, " Rangers say in a statement. Join the discussion at the top of this page Raheem Sterling is sitting twiddling his thumbs, unwanted by Chelsea. Surely Brendan could give him a call? David Wishful thinking. The wages - you'd imagine - would scupper that one. Our colleagues in Salford reckon Sterling is Chelsea's highest earner on £325, 000 per week. Rangers aren't likely to be done for tonight, but we'll get back to business elsewhere until we hear anything further from Ibrox. .. Kheredine Idessane BBC Scotland By signing young Portuguese forward Youssef Chermiti, Rangers are opting for potential over proven goalscoring. The 21-year-old started his footballing life at Sporting Lisbon before a big-money move to Everton, for whom he played 24 times without finding the net. He did score for the Portugal under-21s against the Faroe Islands. He hasn't come cheaply, either. He's well-known to sporting director Kevin Thelwell, who was formerly at Everton. He has some pretty big shoes to fill. Cyriel Dessers wasn't everyone's cup of tea, but his numbers are impressive. 29 goals for Rangers last term and 22 the year before, which was his debut season. Dessers' departure is likely to be announced soon, too. Marmite to some, the striker divided opinion and is being allowed to move to Greece, Panathinaikos most likely. “We believe he can develop into a top striker here, and we’re confident that Rangers is the right place for him to take that next step, " Ibrox sporting director Kevin Thelwell said. "We’re all excited about what he can bring to the club over the coming years. ” Chermiti, then, has to hit the ground running, in a team struggling to find form, if he's to be viewed as a serious upgrade on the Nigerian international. Join the discussion at the top of this page As a Rangers fan, I'm not overly enamoured about the reported £8m fee for Youssef Chermiti, who hasn't scored a goal for two seasons, while letting Cyriel Dessers go for a reported £3. 5m. Shopping in the over-inflated English market is a waste of money. Kevin Apologies for the doom and gloom but the reported fee for Chermiti has me baulking. Absolutely nothing in his CV suggests he’s worth that amount of money. And to get rid of Dessers in the same stroke? Doesn’t make sense. Stuart Another unproven 21-year-old, unlikely to save Rangers. James Rangers head coach Russell Martin on new signing Youssef Chermiti: “We’re really pleased to bring Youssef to Rangers. "He’s a young striker with huge potential and a lot of the qualities we were looking for in that position. “At just 21, he already has valuable experience at a high level and we believe this is the right environment for him to continue his development. "We’re excited to work with him over the coming years and help him fulfil that potential here at Rangers. ” New Rangers striker Youssef Chermiti: "I am really happy to be here, when I spoke with Kevin [Thelwell] and Russell [Martin], I knew straight away I wanted to join the club. "I can’t wait to meet everyone, the coaches, my team-mates and all of the staff. I just want to meet everyone and get involved. "I have heard about the atmosphere here and the stadium and I can’t wait to play. " Rangers have announced the signing of striker Youssef Chermiti from Everton on a four-year deal. The 21-year-old started his career at Sporting Lisbon before signing with the Toffees two years ago. He made 24 appearances for Everton without scoring and represented Portugal Under-21s. Oh, the floodgates might've just opened. Rangers fans, someone's arrived. .. This period is very much giving 'calm before the storm' vibes. I reckon we're in for a flood of signings in the final three hours of this window. If not, well, there's gonna be some unhappy fans. Kheredine Idessane BBC Scotland St Mirren fans waiting for a new face or two on deadline day are likely to be disappointed. I am told that while manager Stephen Robinson is looking at a couple of options up front, it's unlikely any more deals will be done before the transfer window closes. There's been a fair turnover already, with a dozen players already added to the ranks, either permanently or on loan. Oisin Smyth has joined Championship side Partick Thistle for the remainder of the 2025-26 season. St Mirren have an option to recall the midfielder in January. Smyth joined the Buddies last summer and has made 30 appearances for Stephen Robinson's side. The 23-year-old moves permanently to the second-tier outfit on undisclosed terms. The striker scored three goals in 24 games for Hearts. Stuart Kettlewell's side had a loan move collapse with an English Championship club over the weekend. The side look solid so far this season, but they require a bit of speed at the top end of the park. I don't think they'd turn down a pacey forward if the right one becomes available. A front pairing of Lyndon Dykes and Kieron Bowie at Easter Road? That sounds like absolute carnage. And I mean that in a good way. Maybe Steve Clarke could give us a wee preview of that on Friday night. .. Brian Mc Lauchlin BBC Sport Scotland Scotland international Lyndon Dykes is ready to join Hibernian on loan from English Championship club Birmingham City. The 29-year-old Australian-born striker had the option to join Preston North End but has chosen Edinburgh as his next port of call with Hibs set to capture him on a season-long loan. Although the player has decided where he wants to go, the deal between the clubs has yet to be concluded. But all being well, he will be a Hibs player by later this evening. Copyright © 2025 BBC.
