David has made a name for himself in Ligue 1 in recent seasons, having joined Lille in 2020 and going onto score 107 goals in 224 games and establish himself as one of the league's best forwards. His form has put a number of top sides on red alert for his services and the Magpies are the latest to register their interest. However, he recently made it clear that England is not where he sees his future. Speaking to the It's Called Soccer podcast, the forward said: 'I think I can adapt to every league. Every league has its differences. 'The Premier League is a lot faster and more physical than all of the other leagues. But for me, I grew up watching a lot of La Liga and for me, that would be my preferred league. 'That is the league that I enjoyed watching the most so one day I would like to play there. ' David is free to sign pre-contract deal with any other European side this summer with most expecting him to leave the French club after five years.
