UEFA Europa League All competitions All competitions All competitions This is the sixth major European meeting between Sporting Braga and Crvena Zvezda – it’s the joint most Braga have faced an opponent (also six vs Shakhtar Donetsk), while the Serbian side will have only faced Barcelona (10), Bayern Munich (7) and Rangers (7) more often. Three of the five major European meetings between Braga and Crvena Zvezda have been drawn, with both sides claiming one victory each in the other two games. Sporting Braga have won their last seven matches in Europe (inc. qualifying), their joint longest ever winning run in European competition (also seven in a row between July and October 2008). Crvena Zvezda have lost 11 of their last 12 away major European matches, conceding 32 goals – their other game in this run was a 1-0 win at Young Boys this January in the UEFA Champions League. Matheus has started both of Crvena Zvezda’s UEFA Europa League games this season – his next start will be his 62nd in the competition, level with Aleksandar Dragovic and behind only goalkeeper Rui Patrício in the competition’s history since 2009-10.
