Messi's team suffered defeat on the night at BMO Stadium, with Nathan Ordaz's second-half strike earning LAFC a narrow 1-0 win in front of an A-list crowd. Miami co-owner David Beckham, who has long owned properties in LA, was in the house as his club came unstuck in the first leg of their Concacaf Champions Cup quarterfinal tie. As well as Beckham - who celebrated turning 50 at a star-studded birthday party in Miami over the weekend - there were plenty of other high-profile names watching on in the crowd. NBA icon Curry looked in fine spirits as he took in the action from a private suite, while model and reality star Jenner was seen sporting a brown leather jacket and light-blue jeans while sitting in the stands. Legendary singer and songwriter Lionel Richie was even at the game, as was LA Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford and his wife Kelly. Messi had produced a goal or an assist in each of his first six Champions Cup appearances since joining Inter two years ago, including three goals in the early rounds of this year's tournament. Yet despite playing the entire match in Los Angeles, the soccer legend - who only returned from injury last week - failed to get on the scoresheet in a narrow defeat for his side. Wednesday's cup fixture came just a few days after Beckham's 50th birthday bash over in Miami, which Messi attended along with teammates Luis Suarez, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba. Beckham stood for a picture with all four players before wife Victoria joined him in posing for a separate one with Messi, Suarez and their wives. David was laughing out loud as they posed with Messi, his wife Antonela Roccuzzo, Suarez and his wife Sofia Balbi. The former England soccer player, who doesn't actually turn 50 until May 2, posted several pictures from the bash at the Cipriani Downtown Miami in Florida on Sunday.
